Commercial Description:
Midnight Sun's Fallen Angel Golden Strong Ale, brewed on 6-6-6, is a traditional Belgian-style golden ale--beautiful gold in color with tiny, busy bubbles forming a very thick, creamy head. Effervescent and crisp, this seriously delicious elixir tempts the palate with apple (oh so Garden of Eden), pear and a little earthy mustiness. Fallen Angel captivates your senses with its lightness and brightness while its 8% ABV strength breathes fire into your soul, warming you from the inside out.

22 oz bottle. Smells like apple juice with a little sourdough bread thrown in. Hazy pale yellow with a big fluffy white head. Medium sweetness with lots of fruit flavors, lightly sour from the yeast. Medium body, lively carbonation, and a sweet long finish. This is a great beer, it almost reminds of of champagne.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye, pours with a large, white head over a hazed golden body. Good lace. Aroma is alcohol, sugary, honey, dried fruits and apple. Taste is alcohol, dry fruits, pear, yeast, bread and slightly metallic. Dry mouthfeel and somewhat well carbonated.

Clear golden, white foam fades pretty quickly, smell is Belgian yeast, a touch of funk, fruit, hint of clove and pepper, taste is slight sweet, bitter, tangy citrus, nice finish, lots of flavor but they don’t quite come together. The beer has bite, although not overly bitter. The feel is a bit too thick for me, it lessens the refreshing quality. A touch alcoholic. A strong, aggressive, flavorful beer, enjoyable but a bit rough around the edges.

Courtesy Beerlando. Slightly cloudy golden color, thin white head. Sweet grainy aroma, Belgian yeast, slight spiciness. Almost flat mouthfeel, and has a general sweet character overall with some crisp fruitiness on the back end.

Pours a lightly hazy golden color with a minimal, bubbly, white head. The foam settles quickly to a wispy film. A soapy wash leaves virtually no lacing behind. Aromas include candy sugar, bready yeast, light caramel, and perfumy, floral hops. I can see instantly why some call this a Duvel clone. Flavors show more candy sugar, with hints of cotton candy and some apples coming through. Wildflowers lend some spice and bitterness. Medium bodied and lightly carbonated, this is fairly easy drinking considering the substantial ABV. Nice brew.
