| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 19, 2007 Bottle sampled on 5/8/07: Pours a clear bright golden with a large, frothy well-lacing pillowy white head. Aroma of sweet, lightly caramely, biscuity malt and a touch of floral hops. Body starts fairly full and well-carbonated with a touch of light sweetness and a big, bittering floral hop presence. Needs a little more sweetness and less bitterness for balance, but still pretty enjoyable. Cletus (5057), Connecticut, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 19, 2008 22oz bottle pours cloudy yellow with a finely-bubbled white head. Nose has some sharpness, some lemon juice and crisp, sweet candy sugar, but also a sweet, doughy softness from the yeast, with some spiced ginger and elderberry surprising the nose. Medium to full body, some brightness up front... candy sugar, spiced bread dough... really reminds me of Duvel, it’s remarkable... a light touch of soapy juniper is left on the tongue after a bright and vibrant finish. Good stuff. goldtwins (4080), Nesconset, New York, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 13, 2008 Thanks to Kan for opening the bomber! Poured clear-ish brighter golden with a short, fizzy cap of white head. The aroma picked up sweeter bananas and dry English-inspired hoppage with some wheat and spicy clove.. OK, but not necessarily enticing.. floral notes emerged with warmth. Sweeter yet in the flavor department with banana-ey notes and pale malts at the core.. white pepper and cloves accented.. decent finish. Dry and spicy on the palate with OK balance.. bit too much residual sweetness.. this wasn’t far from being a tripel.
