Commercial Description:
Midnight Sun's Fallen Angel Golden Strong Ale, brewed on 6-6-6, is a traditional Belgian-style golden ale--beautiful gold in color with tiny, busy bubbles forming a very thick, creamy head. Effervescent and crisp, this seriously delicious elixir tempts the palate with apple (oh so Garden of Eden), pear and a little earthy mustiness. Fallen Angel captivates your senses with its lightness and brightness while its 8% ABV strength breathes fire into your soul, warming you from the inside out.

22oz bottle acquired in trade with goldtwins (thanks!!!!).Bottle labeled born on 6-6-6 (nice). Poured a medium and cloudy yellow color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of pears, apples, light spices, yeast, and citrus. Tastes of pears, sweet apples, citrus, spices, and yeast. Light alcohol finish, but overall well hidden.

Bottle thanks to blackdonald. This was very easy to drink. And hard to share with the friends I was sampling with. Nice dry feel. Citrus fruits, coriander, spices, and slightly floral. A very nice Belgian.

Poured from 1.5L bottle from MSBC. A hazy golden color with a quick forming white head that fades to a tight white ring. Aroma of Belgian yeast funkiness, sweet fruits, malt and a light hop note. The taste is the same with some spice/pepper notes. Medium body with good carbonation fizz. Overall a good beer that doesn’t show it’s alcohol until late in the finish.

Perfect appearance as far as I’m concerned. Huge, rocky head is well-retained, white and sits atop brassy-golden body that shows fine, bottle conditioned carbonation. Excellent lacing as well.
Coriander and soft, estery Belgian yeast in the nose are elegant and very clean. The spicing is not overdone and takes the place of what would be a similar hop character (some herbal hop notes can still be found as well). Rich pils malt is sensed, though it’s not overly sweet. Just has a lovely honey character to it that seems strong and resilient. Some doughy character is added to this, giving it a little more heft. It ends on a dry note, with light acidity and plenty of dry, yellow fruitiness. Coriander lasts through to the end. No flaws whatsoever, no alcohol warmth that I could detect.
Perfectly tight, engaging carbonation leads off on a strong note, as light banana and clove notes can be glimpsed beside the stronger coriander spiciness. Doughy yeast character is minimal, while plenty of daintiness is had from the pils malt. Soft is the texture, and very drinkable, leading to a drying finish with a moderate amount of acidity that seems to come mostly from the coriander (and hops?). Attenuation tends somewhat to the sweet side, but it’s not overly sweet, IMHO. Lovely yeast character that greatly impressed all three of us Belgiephiles (Olivier, Jocelyn and myself). Not some cheap Americanized knock-off. Cleaner than most Belgians, you might say, but artfully done with a wonderful texture and malt flavor. A bit too much acidity and some light alcohol sharpness at times (on the finish), but overall, I think the extra 4 or so months has really mellowed this out as compared to the reviews from younger samples. Also, I didnt find too much graininess that others have noted.

Poured a hazy golden color with a small, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, spices, bread, citrus fruits, and some honey as well. Taste of honey, citrus fruits, coriander, grains of paradise, and yeast, with ginger, still some bitter hops, and a bit of alcohol in the finish.

Thanks pantanap. The beer pours to a murky hazy yellow body (bottom of the bottle). It has a thin white head. The aroma is sweet fruits and pineapple. Nice yeasts. Clean aroma. The flavor is clean yeasts, nice pale malts, fruits of pineapple and starfruit. Nicely blended/balanced. The palate is clean, medium-light bodied. Smooth and velvety. Sweet but not sugary.

I liked this beer. It was a bit sweet, and the 8% alc. was completely hiden. Poured bronze with a creamy head. Sweet and fun, very easy drinking. Flavor of honey, flowers, and a bit of citrus. Very clean aftertaste. Very good.

Aroma has some spice and a lot of fruit with mellow hops. Taste is juicy and fruity for a blegian and has some spicey hops too. Delicious.
