Commercial Description:
First of the 7 Deadly BeeRs. Indulge your demons: Gluttony is the overpowering desire to consume more than one requires. 200 IBUs.
Gluttony Triple IPA overindulges the palate with profound malt, powerful hops and abundant body. Its deep decadent golden orange color presents an appetizing invitation for extravagant enjoyment. Its aroma entices with citrus, pine and alcohol while the flavor provides a smörgåsbord of sweet malt, fresh tangerine/grapefruit and a resinous hop character that lingers well beyond the finish.

Draft glass at Cafe Amsterdam. Dark, rusty orange with a solid and sticky top. The aroma is massive -- earthy, thick and viscuously hoppy. For a beer listed at 200 IBUs, this is incredibly easy to drink ... albeit full of pleasant hop bite and a murkily-thick malt powerhouse. Outstanding. (#3303, 1/20/2008)

Very bright orange beer, hazy/cloudy with a thin white head. Aroma is so awesome... juicy and fruity and loaded with grapefruity, mango, papaya and even more tropical frutiness. Lean bodied and very drinkable. Loads of richly aromatic hops over the lean pale malt. Cooling minty/peppery booziness on the back. A very tasty IIPA. Would love to revisit a full bottle of this one myself.

Bottle. Clear orange/amber with a viscous tan head, nice lacing. Big citrusy orange and grapefruit aroma with light sherry oxidation. Smooth medium body with soft carbonation. Big flavors of bitter citrus hops meshed with a caramel and light pit fruit sweetness. Nice spicy alcohol twang adds warmth in the finish. A great fireside sipper.

bottle at Ft Wayne locals tasting courtesy of jsquire - Pours hazy orange and has a full aroma of heavy citrus hops. Given that people are only thought to be able to taste a maximum of 80-100 IBUs, I’m not sure what the point of 200 is, but this one tastes like a good, well-balanced IIPA to me. It’s a grapefruit hop bomb with good malt backing. Well done and I’d love to have more.

Bottle. Thanks to hopdog for sharing the bottle. Pours a golden maber body with thin head and some floaters. Aroma is of nnice citrus, grapefruit, sweaty. Taste is bitter, citrus hops, light sweet malt. This was an assault of hops on the tongue. Nicely done.

Pours clear copper with a slight chill haze. A dense, white head built to a full two inches and remained for several minutes. The high krauesen of foam slowly receded to a partial skim coat on the surface, revealing exaggerated strings of lacy froth. Aromatics are floral and pungent. Tangerines and peaches make thier presense known, as well as spruce oil-laced grapefruit. A promise of alcohol comes forward under the tropical resins, and a light maltiness follows through. The mouthfeel is crisp, drying, and resinous. Sticky and sappy. The pallet is dominated by aggresive hopping. The bitterness is as subtle as a buzzsaw on the tongue, but does not cross into harsh territory. Loads of hopping in the flavor of the brew also. Heavy on the grapefruit, with the peach/ pear/ orange character in the background. Maltiness is at a minimum, but still adding a decent backbone to the weight of the hops. Finishes with an extremely lingering crisp dryness, grapefruit pith, warming alcohols and a tongue-scraping bitterness. A huge IIPA from Midnight Sun, and damn fresh.

Bomber. This is a big and boozy IPA. Plenty of everything. Hoppy and malty with the fresh hops pushing of to the citrus side. Nice, dry finish.
