Appearance: Pours a very pale yellow body obscured by fine particles and topped by a fizzy white head. Smell: Soft Belgian malt aroma with a zesty spice component and estery notes of candied lemons and banana smoothies. Taste: Light pilsnery maltiness with a subdued sweetness from a few flecks of candi sugar. Touch of spiciness and a hint of bitterness. The drying finish presents a light sour lemon taste and a lingering yeastiness. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Fizzy carbonation. Drinkability: One malt and two hop varieties, but Midnight Sun made them count nonetheless in the creation of a fine, enjoyable Belgian Ale.

This one poured a hazy yellow color with a thin whispy white head. It smells of citrus fruits, spices, wheat, and some hops. The flavor is similar with the dry almost citrus fruits blended with the spices and floral hops. Has a nice yeasty taste to this one. This one is medium bodied with a good dose of carbonation that has dry, spicy finish. Nothing crazy, but still drinkable.

Draft glass at Cafe Amsterdam. Very light pale yellow with a firm bright white pillowtop. The aroma is banana-cremey and this carries into the drink. Almost Witbier-like, this is a nice light introduction to Midnight Sun’s 7 Deadly Sins. (#3300, 1/20/2008)

Cloudy, fizzy looking pale yellow body with a small, foamy, pure white head. thin, delicate lines of lacing form a honeycomb pattern on the glass. The aroma is light and crisp, with a good dose of lemony citrus layered over a sweet, yeasty base with mild floral hops. The flavor follows suit, with very light, dry citrus blending well with the mild yeast to form a chiffon like taste. The floral hops transition smoothly to a short, acidic, lightly peppery finish. The body is on the light side of medium, with fizzy carbonation. Nothing special here, but well done for a delicate style.

22oz. A solid brew from MS, one which reminds me of the Witkap singel in its very dry finish and slight pepper notes. But the delicate tartness in there, along with the zesty body, also recall a modest wit. A nice beer but not very memorable.

Logan’s pre-GABF 2007 party. Head is mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers, herbs), lightly yeasty (cobwebs, basement), with notes of gum, lemon zest, pepper. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Decent but not particularly notable.
