Commercial Description:
The last in our 2007 Deadly Sin Beer series evokes deadly desire in men (and, OK, women too) with its dark Belgian character. It was aged for ONE year in bourbon oak barrels and infused with sour cherries & brettanomyces.

Thanks to MaltOMeal for this bottle! Shared with MaltOMeal and thickfreakness. Very dark black with thin head. Nose is like strawberry jam, bourbon and vanilla. Flavor is cherries, strawberries and a bit of brett, but not overly so. Some bourbon, but not as much as I expected. Carbonation is very rich. Thanks Bill.

Thanks to Eben for this one. Black body, thin, spritzy head. Aroma of vanilla, chocolate, cherry, bourbon, with a chalky quality. Flavor is a strong blend of cherries and bourbon, along with vanilla, and dry cherry skin tannins.

Poured from a 22 oz bottle. Chocolate brown thick pour. Scattered sweet and tart aroma. Chocolate malts and cherries pushy in the front; bourbon swells warmly and sinks in slowly; buttery sweetness, toasty coconut, peppermint. Nip of acrid espresso bitterness misplaced. Minty, syrupy warm flavor; no brett yet, though a healthy tartness of cherry skins and thick red wine; sultry spiciness, crisp and cooling. Malts have sealed together well; bourbon lacquers a bit thickly; some brown sugar, liquor soaked pears, cherries, and plums, light anise and red licorice. Soft and heavy palate, richly textured if a bit loose and youthful. Wild yeast making no impact yet, while the sustaining elements stand well enough on their own. Thanks Tim!

Courtesy of Stine. Hazy dark amber body with a small light tan head. Caramel covered raisin nose with bourbon, cherries and toffee. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter with toffee, raisins, plums skins, bourbon, cherries and some chocolate. Full body is very soft with light carbonation.

22oz bottle, courtesy of Stine. Thanks, Eben! Pours a very dark cola color; fluffy, light-tan head with solid retention and fine-bubbled lacing; excellent pour. Lots of tart cherries, sweet bourbon (toasty vanilla and wooden notes), some butter and slightly sour brettiness in the aroma; nice, complex nose with a young brett character. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: surprising levels of chocolate and esters; lively carbonation; chewy, toasty and vanilla-laden bourbon (nothing rough, but not exceedingly chewy or clear); fair amount of warming alcohol coming through at mid-palate; slightly rough overall, but the components seem like they would come together with a bit more age behind it. Very interesting beer. Lengthy finish, showing toasty / buttery bourbon, chewy malts, and a bit of soft brown sugar.
