22 oz. bottle - pours very dark brown with frothy chocolate colored head; yeasty spice, dank fruit, cloves; soft, fluffy texture; strangely flavorless at first, which improves slightly as it warms; fruity, malty and some spice, but never gets to level of the nose; bitterness and dry sweetness in the finish; decent, but pretty much a letdown

Dark beer with faint hints of mahagany around the edges. Frothy tan head. Nose of dark sugar and licorice. Burnt sugar flavors with dark caramel, molasses, raisen, fruit cake and noticable alcohol in the finish. Big Belgian strong ale.

22 oz bottle. Ebony with a fluffy tan head that settles to crema. Nose is caramel, musty wood, molasses, cocoa and raisin. Medium body lightened with foamy carb. A bit hot at first yielding to a wonderful complexity. Booze soaked raisins, chocolate caramel, a touch of soy; getting slightly vinous. Dry finish, grassy with bitter citrus. Top notch BSA with hints of a RIS and a DIPA. Awesome brew.

Bottle thanks to savnac, thanks Ira! Pour is deep rich looking brown with a nice velvety tan head. Immediately after opening, the room is filled with wonderful aromas of molasses, chocolate, and nutmeg. Further aromas include: light coffee, faint cinnamon, and a rich nuttiness. The flavor is incredibly well-balanced. Large brown sugar, hints of molasses, milk chocolate, faint dark fruits, nutmeg, light clove, a crisp dry-hop-like kick, and a velvety smooth finish. The spice and light hop really balance out the sweetness of the malt and create a wonderfully complex yet round flavor. The alcohol is no where to be found. Just awesome, thanks again Ira.

22 oz bottle. A slow pour produces a dark brown color with a big dense long lasting tan head that sticks to the sides of the Trappist glass. The aroma is dark fruit, chocolate, spicy/floral hops and a very light alcohol scent. The taste is rich sweet chocolate with a light hop and roasted malt bitterness and a very light Belgian yeast sourness, absolutely no alcohol taste. Full body with medium carbonation and a soft creamy mouth feel. This is really everything I could want out of a Dark Strong Belgian Ale, rich full flavor, excellent mouth feel, just a great well balanced beer.
