Pours a transparent dark mahogany with a well-lacing frothy light tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel malt and dark fruity complexity with some raisins and milk chocolate with a touch of Belgian yeast. Body starts with good sweet malty fullness and rich caramel and dark fruity complexity. Finishes smooth and semi-sweet hiding its alcohol quite well.

Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Smells of dark fruit, some molasses, bread pudding, caramel. Tastes of toffee, dark fruit, spices, nutty, earthy. Alcohol is well masked in this one and the mouthfeel is a wonderful velvety molasses and dark fruit. Excellent beer!

trappist glass. dense dark brown body with a rich, creamy and fine-bubbled dark tan head, lasting retention, beautiful swirling pattern. nose nails the dried apricots i’m sitting here eating... rich caramel and sticky toffee is infused with a red wine/sherry note (mild) with light barrel tannins. rich, tangy and full, frothy on the back, lightly peppery up front. body is exceptionally dense but well-suited for the texture and level of sweetness. light pepper/nutmeg/allspice notes here and there, huge chewy munich/caramel/light roast malt flavor. the base beer speaks more than the barrel, as it should be. dried apricots, dried prunes, dried dates, that thick and chewy character of the dried fruit is perfectly mimicked by the chewy malt body. sweetness is substantial but not overdone, with dark candy sugar and caramelized prune juice coming to mind. resinous damp wood notes in the finish with a light wine/red grape/dried peach touch of sweet. awesome beer throughout.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark brown. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, chocolate), with notes of Bit O Honey, peanut butter candy, date, overripe banana, alcohol. Flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Full body, velvety/creamy texture, lively carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Too sweet to drink very much of it, but it’s quite luxurious and elegant. Would have loved to tried it much younger, but I’m surprised how it’s holding up.

Poured a clear very deep ruby color with a medium sized beige head. Fruity, thick and sweet aroma. Just what I like. Fruity flavor with sweet plums and sugar. Bitter finish. Medium to full body with a sticky mouthfeel and warm in the chest. I liked this one.

Bottle shared by Larry thanks for another brew off my wants list! awesome. Pours a dark brown body with 2 finger yellow head. Sweet with cinnamon spices, oak says cab barrels but im getting a more vegetative aroma here. Moderate alcohol warming especially given the abv percentage. Then just loads of grainy caramel body all the way.
