Pour is beautiful deep brown with a huge tan head. Aroma is very rich; full of brown sugar, vanilla, notes of wood, and dried fruits. Flavor is luscious and full. Roasted malt, vanilla and light sweetness to start. Then the barrel comes through; wood, fruits, and the Cab comes through way at the end. It lingers. It’s earthy with plums, dates, and a hint of sweetness. Alcohol is no where to be found. Wow, wonderful stuff. TampaBrew (868), Tampa, Florida, USA

This brew pours a dark reddish-brown with a tan head. The flavors of this beer change as it warms up towards room temperature. One of the most complex tasting beers I’ve tried in quite some time. Fruits, caramel, licorice, candy sugar hints come through with the addition of the oak from the aging in the cabernet barrels. Lovely beer. bdigital (591), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA

Pour was a dark mahogany with a big, rocky tan head. Initially the nose on this threw me way off, I couldn’t pick up anything and it led me to brush it off. After I came back to it later though, wow...huge herbal character, mainly anise and mint leaves. Additional notes of belgian candy sugar, oak and some vinous characteristics also were apparent. The flavor on this was big on the dry, vinous side of things...the oak really seems to have melded well with the anise and brings out this thoroughly unique flavor that I don’t ever remember experiencing. The belgian candy flavors compliment nicely along with some roasted maltiness. Great brew!
