ChristianScheffel (2250), Odense, Denmark May 6, 2008 Hazy golden with a lasting white pillow of head. Grain dominates the aroma, some coriander and a hint of grass. Dry with some wheat flavour, and a little spice. There is a hint of black pepper hotness in the finish. Could use the little touch of acidity that makes the best wits so quenching.
oh6gdx (6343), Vaasa, Finland Oct 9, 2008 Bottled. Hazy yellow colour, mediumsized foamy and longlasting head, some lace. Aroma is wheat, some fruity and flowery notes along with mild herbal touch. Flavour is quite much the same along with some slight yeastyness and dishwateryness. larsga (2319), Oslo, Norway Sep 22, 2008 Small white lasting head. Hazy pale yellow body. Fruity floral mealy aroma with pear notes. Dry-sweet delicate pear taste with elderberry notes. Soft, balanced, harmonic. Dryish floral pear aftertaste. Very, very nice. (0.1l taster bottled at EBF ’08.) FrankJohansen (2807), Sabro, Denmark Sep 18, 2008 Bottle at EBF 2008. Hazy golden colour with a medium white head. Aroma and taste of herbs and citrus. Lasting taste. Papsoe (10517), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 14, 2008 (Bottle 50 cl) Pours a hazy golden with floating impurities and a white head. Aroma of yeast and sweet malts and fruits - quite spicy from coriander. Medium body with a sweet and perfumy fruitiness and a dry phenolic touch. Surprisingly strong for a Belgian Wit, but still fresh and quaffable. 280808 Skinnyviking (2725), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 19, 2008 Bottle. High fluffy and long lasting white head. Hazy yellow body. Spicy aroma of coariander and pepper with fruit in the background. The spices are, however, pretty dominant. Flavor though is smooth and creamy with weak hints of fruit. Low carbonation, short aftertaste.
