Commercial Description:
Editor's note: Voted best new beer 2007 by the Danish Society of Beer Enthusiasts.

English: Imperial Stout is a dark and rich beer with a beautiful dark cream coloured head. It’s brewed from several types of roast malts and conditioned on oak, which adds to the heavy body. The Imperial Stout has a strong and growing aftertaste of coffee, bitter chocolate and vanilla. Suited for game, strong cheeses and chocolate desserts. Or may be enjoyed alone in a cognac snifter in front of the fireplace.

From the Bottle at the Wellington, Sheffield (Thanks PhilL) Smoked malt aroma. Black and very strong in alcohol with a little smoked flavour. A little dryness in a full burnt roast finish.

31-JUL-2009, Bottle @home. Very dark, high brownish head. Nice smooth chocolate, coffee and other roasted aromas. Sweet, smooth, creamy, roasted. Some hops, though not dominating. Perfect impy stout. A session impy stout. Does that make sence? If so this could be a session impy stout due to the smoothness and the easy drinkability. I like this one.

Bottle sampled on 10/25/08 courtesy of mj: Pours an oily opaque with dark mahogany edges and a spotty-lacing tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramely malt with some earthy resiny hops and dark chocolate. Body starts with good fullness and warming sweet dark caramel and chocolate before a drier peppery alcoholic finish. A decent imperial stout, but needs time to age.

50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of butterscotch, caramel/toffee, a hint of coffee. Flavour is sweet, butterscotch, roasted malts, some milk chocolate, liquorice root, coffee bitter and hoppy/grapefruit finish. Soft, syrupy mouthfeel, medium to fullbodied. Very nice, but a bit too sweet for my liking.
