Commercial Description:
Editor's note: Voted best new beer 2007 by the Danish Society of Beer Enthusiasts.

English: Imperial Stout is a dark and rich beer with a beautiful dark cream coloured head. It’s brewed from several types of roast malts and conditioned on oak, which adds to the heavy body. The Imperial Stout has a strong and growing aftertaste of coffee, bitter chocolate and vanilla. Suited for game, strong cheeses and chocolate desserts. Or may be enjoyed alone in a cognac snifter in front of the fireplace.

Bottle. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of alcohol, roasted malt, molasses, sweet malt, and raisins. Flavor is slightly odd- some roasted malt, bitter chocolate, and an odd sort of sweet milk taste. Palate is a little thin. Drinkable but not that flavorful. Meh. 7/4/7/3/16 (3.5/5)

Black pour witha small tan head. Chocolate, plums, roast in the nose. Flavor is much the same. Some very nice chocolate and the roasted flavor is wonderful. This is a very well done beer.

Bottle, thx Daknole! Dark brown-black with scant tan head. Aroma of prunes, toasted wood, cedar. Soft mouthfeel. Good effervescence. Really nice black licorice character. Fun brew with unique spicy-sweet flavors and a hint of smoke too. Very nice, very unique.

.5 L bottle shared by MJ. Pours a medium dark brownish almost black with a nice lingering head. Aroma has a touch of alcohol even up front- toasted matls, nutty chocolate- good dry reasted barley with litttle burnt harshness. Flavor is more earthy- with leather, licorice, and a nutty dry dark chocolate malts and a bit dirty yeasty as well. Good smooth mouthfeel with a good clean lingering finish.

50 cl bottle, shared by acrdz. Pours a dark brown, almost black, body with a wispy brown head. The nose is big chocolate malt with roast, a little smoke, and dark roast coffee. The flavor was much more subtle and soft than I was expecting, Roasty with a great chocolaty middle that mixed well with the slight yeastiness, it prompted a comparison to a good chocolate milkshake in my mind. Minimal to no alcohol. The mouthfeel was full and fairly creamy with nice soft carbonation. Really nice and very well balanced, not over the top in any way.
