**Summary** - I am always game for a new imperial stout especially one from a country with brewers like Olfabrikken. Thanks to whomever brought it. Denmark is not known as a hotbed of great beer but they seem to release some good (but pricey) stuff.
**Aroma / Appearance** - Deep black with clingy lacing and a thin tan head it gave off a rich combination of roasted coffee, blackened malt, smoke, chocolate, and other aromas that formed a dense combination.
**Flavor / Palate** - Smoked coffee beans led to dry chocolate and a bit of ethanol. The smoky finished wrapped up a solid imperial stout that was novel considering the country. Heres to hoping more people get to try it. lassem (312), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 24, 2008 With a design that makes you think of the middle ages, with swords and gothic letters...what a proper wraping for an imperial stout that almost could be the oil that were poured on top of intruders from castle walls back then. Allways a thump up for good wrapping - and this one is.
Pours a dark brown - almost black with a nice light brown creamy head - that stays. The nose is light with coffee- and caramel notes. There is some vanilla and wet hay and wood. The taste is surprisingly mild with a rather flat palate and a faint finish - bummer. You can taste the barrelaging and there are notes of both coffee and chocolate, roasted malts, vanilla and plump. The bitterness are overtaking the taste in the end. OK Habanero (633), Tranbjerg, Denmark

Hugely rich chocolate candy and rich creamy chocolate syrup in the nose... the rich dark chocolate character is full bodies, slick, mellow, and very smooth and creamy. Well attenuated, rich and delectable. Better than expected.
