Dark grapefruit colour, lacking much malt. Some peachy fruity taste. Good lacing. Below average mouthfeel. About average cask, and a tad astringent. Not quite at the style. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 27, 2009 Cask. At Volo 2009 English Cask event. Cloudy, nearly pumpkin-orange pour with a tiny frothy off-white head (3+). Aroma of tangerine, dry grain and very mild, dry peat - decently bitter, another in the "not sweet" category. Tasted of grapefruit zest, light cocoa and dry herbal bitterness ... a wee hint of alcohol. Light, slick mouthfeel, still, slightly astringent, quite quick-finishing, leaving a light, dry, slightly woody aftertaste. Decent, a classic cask mouthfeel, quite dry, not sweet at all, but I found that hint of cocoa a little weird.
