Cask at Volo’s ’Pre-Cask Days’ event. Pours a hazy copper with no head. Aroma’s a bit sweet along with average hops and light spices. Flavour’s malty and fruity along with light hops and some spices. Light, spicy hoppy finish. Good body for the style. Pretty good.

Cask at Volo 2009 English cask vent. Serviceable English bitter. Dark grapefruit colour, lacking much malt. Some peachy fruity taste. Good lacing. Below average mouthfeel. About average cask, and a tad astringent. Not quite at the style.

Cask. At Volo 2009 English Cask event. Cloudy, nearly pumpkin-orange pour with a tiny frothy off-white head (3+). Aroma of tangerine, dry grain and very mild, dry peat - decently bitter, another in the "not sweet" category. Tasted of grapefruit zest, light cocoa and dry herbal bitterness ... a wee hint of alcohol. Light, slick mouthfeel, still, slightly astringent, quite quick-finishing, leaving a light, dry, slightly woody aftertaste. Decent, a classic cask mouthfeel, quite dry, not sweet at all, but I found that hint of cocoa a little weird.
