The aroma is straight up citrusy hops, mild caramalt. Flavour was a bit of a mixed bag, same nice malt character met with indistinct malts. Body was medium and bit my tongue more than I was expecting. Citrusy hop character had a sour tinge to it. Reminded me somehow of a candy-apple. One pint was enough for me. Pretty decent, I’m not sure why exactly but this one just didn’t do it for me. robinvboyer (1436), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada

Good malt backbone, and not overly bitter. I can see why this won the IPA challenge. pootzboy (1048), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 31, 2009 Fresh bottle: Poured a clear, lush orange-copper with ruby highlights. 2Finger frothy tight pored beige cap...good retention and lacing.
Pungent malt and hop aromas; bready, doughy, toffee, floral, citus, grassy,,,wonderful nose to it.
Pleasant rounded character, well bodied and smooth mouth feel. Big malts (4 that I can detect) and hops( 3 Ale varieties) blend in a fantastic symbiotic balance...leads to a clean lightly drying finish.
A very approachable big ale, well crafted with rare perfect balance. Bittering is tamed so all the lush malt and hop layering is distinguishable to the palate..
Absolutely world class! Never change or tamper with this brew’s recipe! MrManning (1653), London, Ontario, Canada

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 25, 2009 cask at C’est What. Pours a medium amber with a nice tight white head. Aroma is actually only modestly hopped- some light citrus, and pine sap, floral and almost tea-like with a fair amount of toffee, caramel and crystal malts. Flavor is herbal earthy, light citrus and orange peel, toasted malts, caramel, toffee, light leather earth and mild fruitiness. Clean and easy drinking though- smooth on cask. Aroma of citrus and pine followed by some fine malt, auburn, tiny custard head. Flavour offers a bold orange malt combo, that works well. Light bodied, very well balanced, appealingly bitter, easy drinking. Terrific! Nice job, again Mr. Duggan!
