hellbilly (1502), scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA Aug 3, 2009 big thanks to nbutler11 for cracking this...
it pours about as black as brown can be with no head... very viscous.
the aroma is really rich, thick and sweet... malt, soy, red wine, prunes, black raisins, wood, spice, cocoa nibs and booze. it smells like it’s going to hurt...
the palate is just not my thing... overtly sweet, rich and syrupy. it does have nice flavors of vanilla, prunes, dark cocoa, barley, ashy roast, salt/soy/yeast, wood and a fruity wine-like tartness before a cleansing on the finish of alcohol. the aftertaste is amazing!... tobacco, vanilla and all around fit for a cigar... something to cut the sweetness.
the body is thick, rich and syrupy (just like the rest of the brew), smooth and nearly void of carbonation. much like sipping on a nice port... just not my thing. 7/5/5/4/14/3.5

Aroma is roasted, some liqourice, coffee, peachy alcohol and chocolate. Flavour is bitter and tastes like ash. Very burned, but changes to sweet liquer. Chocolate with alcohol warmth. Quite oily, it has somekind of little bits of something. Extremely strange, maybe too much. I’m not sure if it is a good thing. Worth of tasting, but I’m not sure where I stand with these "BIG BREWS". oteyj (716), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA Jul 25, 2009 Jet black pour with dark brown head. Aroma is roast, sweet molasses, vanilla and alcohol. Flavor is intensely rich and sweet. Caramel, bourbon boozyness and caramel molasses with tons of chocolate and vanilla. Palate is rich, full, velvety and creamy with a warming syrup like quality. AS the brew warms flavors develop into creamy roast, licorice, and syrup. Amazing brew. nbutler11 (729), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Jul 22, 2009 Bottle from Sun Devi cracked at Atlas Bistro to pair with a chocolate dessert. Pours like motor oil with a trim reddish-brown head. Highly viscous. Smells of aggressively of alcohol, cocoa, and tobacco. Mellows in flavor with cavernous notes of soy sauce, raisins, dates, molasses, red wine, black licorice, chocolate brownie, and a touch of ash on the finish. Perhaps the perfect cigar pairing. Massive and delicious, but not for the masses. gam (1068), brisbane, Australia Jul 19, 2009 Not much head, some coverage of froth in a thick dark Imp/Stout,aroma raisin other dark fruit, plum, soy hint molasses liccorice, alcohol, chocolate, caramel.Flavour bitterfirst up is superb as is the smooth mildly gritty taste, plenty of alcohol even with the good tastes of caramel chocolate roasted, liccorice soy raisin plum like even fig sweetness hint, finish superb lasting bitter strong flavours, top stuff.
