Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proef Brouwerij, Lochristi-Hijfte, Belgium.

The strongest beer in Scandinavia. This imperial stout is the craziest, wildest, strongest beer from Mikkeller to this date. Not for sissies.......! Sample it fresh or store it for many many years to come!
Ingredients : Water, malt, roasted barley, dark cassonade, ale yeast and champagne yeast.

Bottle shared with reakt. Thanks, Angelo!!! Pours pure black with a beige head. Aroma is Isopryl alcohol candy, red prune wine, and sweet cake. Flavor is chocolate scotch peat with fruit syrup. Full mouthfeel. Flavors linger 30 seconds after each sip. So good I need a priest to forgive me.

Bottle 鶷 ml), thanks gnoff. Intense black with a rich creamy beige head. Aroma is a wild mixture of tar, coffee, molasses, and the characteristic Mikkeller green peppers, in no harmony whatsoever. Medium bodied and very smooth. Cloyingly sweet and brytallu bitter at the same time. Ridiculously unbalanced, could not finish my sample. Will perhaps be more drinkable in some years to come.

375ml bottle. corked and caged. Amped-up Black Hole without the coffee. Alcohol is just wafting out! Super strong. Huge roast. Flavor has deep roast, log lasting flavor of residual sweetness. Whoo, flavor of alcohol. WOW. Nice malts, still lots of sugars left! HOW? Don’t know. Are my cheeks RED?? Nice, very nice. Another A+ from Mikkeller. Whoo that’s strong!

Bottle shared by Robert at SL. Pour is deep, dark, motor oil-thick black, surprisingly generous choco-tan colored head (don’t remember the lacing). The aroma was hot dark fruits, vinous notes, chocolate and roast. Flavor followed suit, definitely big, figgy, caramel notes, somewhat similar to DFH WWS as far as I could tell - if I hadn’t had to drive home, I woulda grabbed the latter of the shelf and put ’em head to head. Mouthfeel is hot, sticky syrupy, yet fairly drinkable imo. A nice once a year treat. Thanks for generously sharing, Robert!

Bottle (9 months old): Poured a pitch black color with a small foamy head with little carbonation and minimal retention. Aroma consists purely of alcohol ester with some grossly sweet notes also discernable. Taste is dominated by bad alcohol ester and is grossly sweet in a much exaggerated way. This beer has totally no balance and I cannot even envision this improving with cellaring. We split a 375ml three ways and not one of us could actually finish the sample. I am all for extreme beer but some type of balance must be maintained which is definitely not the case here.

This beer was not nearly as good as I expected. It poured with a black body topped by a thin to medium thick head with a little lacing left on the glass. This beer hits every part of the tongue, but, I think that’s what I don’t like about it. It starts out sweet and fruity then it gets bitter and hoppy then it’s salty and peppery and it’s al mixed with strong alcohol notes. Full bodied, dry and hot.

bottle from Stone. A great beer. Deep dark brown with a fizzy brown head. Huge alcoholic nose, sweet caramel and chocolate aroma. The taste is not overly sweet for a 17.5% beer. Thick syrupy palate. Chocolate, caramel. mild coffee and vanilla taste with a huge alcohol presence.

From LIC, Aarhus, DK. Bottled, 260608. Black with a brownish head. Aroma is vinous. Flavor is long lasting of malt - incl. roasted barley - caramel, chocolate, liqourice and hop bitterness.
