Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proef Brouwerij, Lochristi-Hijfte, Belgium.

The strongest beer in Scandinavia. This imperial stout is the craziest, wildest, strongest beer from Mikkeller to this date. Not for sissies.......! Sample it fresh or store it for many many years to come!
Ingredients : Water, malt, roasted barley, dark cassonade, ale yeast and champagne yeast.

375ml bottle. pours dark brown with not much of a head. a nice chocolatey, espresso, and alcohol nose. flavor is dang there’s a ton of alcohol here, it’s sharp, biting, and pickly all over the palate, besides the very hot hot alcohol notes there’s some espresso in the finish. i doubt the alcohol will ever mellow but 5-10 years probably couldn’t this beer.

Pour is opaque black with a thin sticky and dense brown head...it definitely has legs...smell is sweet alcohol with undertones of chocolate...wow...what a thick and syrupy but not sweet mouthfeel!!!! The dominant flavor is sweetness/alcohol, with a roasty chocolate backbone...for it to be this high in alcohol blows my mind a little bit...I am not amused that I have to go back 30 miles away and buy more bottles, but I suppose I must...

Pours almost like black syrup. Beige head, mostly lasting. Lots of aroma, dark, roasted, port, alcohol. Flavor is heavy sweet, warming alcohol, a bit sticky too, chocolate, coffee, yeasty. Syrup texture. Soft carbonation.

0.375 l bottle. Pitch black with small brown head. Sweet very burnt aroma with notes of charcoal, rum, licorice, soya sauce, alcohol and solvent. Thick bittersweet flavor infused with charcoal , dark sugar, rum and burning alcohol. Hard to drink, hard to rate. To my mind, this kind of beers should be aged at least a year.

Black in body with tan coloured head and alcoholic legs. Huge aroma of alcohol then dried fruit then loads of sugar. Taste was a touch hot at first, dried fruit again and sugar, not too complex, drank ok - slowly.

What a strange name for a very individual beer.Black and very flat with as you would expect a strong presence of alcohol. Roasted sherry like flavours dominate. Drunk on a cold winters night and reached the spots other beers could not come near.

bottle, jet black color with a nose to match, brown head dissipates easily, has flavors of varnish and roast beef with burnt kahlua thrown in, finish is bitter sweet
