bottle thanks to the kind folks at wlv for popping this bottle open over this past weekend..... poured a very dark brown with very little to no head..... aroma of yeast, dark fruit, and a little smoke in the way of ash...... an abundance of ash and roast, dark fruit, and chocolate made up the nose. this was also hugely boozy that was really warming going down the throat..... i’m hoping that some age will improve this one but for now, it remains quite hot which you would expect from a beer of this abv.

Bottle, big thanks to henrikb! Shared with Traci on her birthday. Deep dark iron black, lots of burnt tan head that sticks around. Intense cocoa aroma, like taking the lid off the cocoa tin, inserting your nose, and inhaling powder clear up to your brain. A lot of alcohol there too, but of a clean sort: vodka good enough to drink on its own. Some raisins. The smell of new trainers. To taste: anything other than a very delicate sip is very hot. But with a gentle sip, rolled around on the tongue, there is a lovely vanilla and melted chocolate flavor, spoiled a bit by kind of an ashy follow up note. Some lingering resiny hops. This strikes me as a beer in adolescence. The interesting bright notes it may have had fresh have faded, and what’s present now hasn’t mellowed enough to be a great old beer. In a few years, I’ll take out the other bottle Henrik sent my way, and would not at all be surprised to find something sublime. As is, interesting, but noisy and unbalanced.

I’ll give it to them this is one crazy beer, but personally I think it goes to far. The words that come to mind are "Massive" and "Train Wreck". Pours a pitch black, with no light penetration, thin dark tan head. The aroma is very boozy, lots of alcohol and some chocolate, soy sauce, and roasted malt hidden behind it, then in your face bitter hops. There is a lot of flavor going on in this imp stout, but all the flavors are very sharp with little harmony. Dark bitter chocolate, espresso, dried dark fruits, creamy sweetness, cocoa beens, and then extremely bitter hops that don’t meld with the malt. Yes, it is complex, but way way over the top.

Black colour with a tan head. Aroma is roasted, malt, coffee, licorice. Flavour is coffee, alcohol, mild acidicness, roasted malts as well as some burnt wood. Nice beer but a little to much alcohol.

Bottle at 3-små rum Göteborg: Black colour, nice brown head. Aroma of citrus,raisins,dry fruits,and a alcy nose. Flavor is weery like here., can recodnice some sugar here too.Dark chocolate/fruity finish. this is a complex beer,who willl be better in some 2-3-years.

Bottle... Poured a thick, syrupy black with little to no head. Super balance and drinkable for 17.5%. WOW! This was really awesome. Not as cloying and thick as others in this range. Chocolate tones and a little soy sauce tone. Dark fruits and and a creamy, sugary malt complexity with dark, roasted coffee beans. Had a sherry booze-like finish.

Pours black, with a brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, dark fruit, molasses, alcohol, chocolate, and licorice. Flavor is sweet roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruit, alcohol, molasses, coffee, and hops. Sweet and alcoholic, with an aftertaste that is like bitter chocolate or really strong coffee. Wow, I really like this, but I understand both the high and low(er) ratings for this one.

Harrys bottle, shared with HogTownHarry and Blankboy. App: Black as satans fillings (I have used that before!) with a pancake mix appearance head. Aroma: Alcohol and coffee and spiced rum/honey rum. Flavour: Burnt alcohol, plant fibres, bitter as hell, long alcoholic coffee finish. Interesting.
