| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 12, 2008 Pours a deep deep black with a small beige head. Aroma is big time sweet with dark fruits, vanilla, chocolate and mild alcohol. The flavor has more of an alcohol bite although not as much as you’d expect from a beer of this strength. Nice fruity notes, roasted grains, chocolate and some citrus. Large bodied, chewy texture. Long long sweet finish. chicagodri (1069), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 13, 2008 Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, and straight booze. It has kind of a burnt chocolate flavor to it. It tastes a little bit like a syrup. It is also a little sweet and boozy for me. I thought it was okay, but I had a lot higher expectations. It is a sipper. M0RHI (1067), Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Mouth is just intense, the best wakeup call my mouth has had at 11.30 am in a long time. Burnt espresso, burning feeling, rich and dark and thick. Not too much alcohol present. Dry mouthfeel, amazing. jredmond (1059), New Jersey, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 8, 2008 Bottle. Pours black with a small but lasting tan head. Aroma of alcohol, dark fruit, roasted malt, coffee, and licorice. Taste is the same as aroma with a heavy amount of alcohol and a touch of astringency from the roasted malt. Full oily mouthfeel with a moderate to strong amount of roasted bitterness and warm but never hot alcohol. Very young and green but with a year or two of aging this beer should be really tasty.
