Bottle from PC Market of Choice in Eugene, OR. Pours black with a decent dark tan head. Aromas of coffee, tobacco, dark roasted malt, and mayhap chocolate. Full bodied with thick, creamy carbonation. Flavor is sweet dark malt, milk chocolate, coffee, and leather. There’s heat, but it acts more as spice than interference. Finish develops a touch of cola. Somewhat sticky. FD&GtoH.

Pours absolutely pitch black with a firm head. Sweet liquorice and soy aroma; is this Samuel Adams Triple Bock?? Thick and oily mouth feel. Flavour is sweet with notes of coffee, liquorice and dark, bitter chocolate. But most of all the flavour is bitter; really, really bitter! An extreme beer designed for beer masochists like us.

Bottle. Very dark brown with a beige foam. Aromas are sorghum with rich roast malts. Oats with chocolate and rich coffee. Peppery alcohol and yeast. Flavours are sweet and sugary with coffee and some dark chocolate bitterness. Really thick caramel and sweet chocolate with raisins and bready yeast. Very peppery and warming on the finish. Fruity and herbal. There’s a lot going on. Great.

As black as black can be. Aromas are complex with the diesel fuel up front along with anise, burnt malts and fruits. This is a real alcohol monster. Flavor of orange and chocolate are also there. This stuff should be put in a time capsule for future generations to enjoy, as I doubt I’ll be around from when the it matures.

Corked and caged bottle. Medium sized light brown head that mostly diminished, very little lacing, opaque, no visible carbonation, and a black hue. The aroma was roasty, chocolate, malty, coffee notes, slightly toasty, alcohol, and lightly hoppy. The flavor was bitter, thick, malt, coffee, roasty, hops, alcohol that warms your innards, hint of chocolate, and a dry finish. Slghtly tingly mouthfeel and medium-full bodied. This is a sipping beer for sure due to the presence of the ABV, very tasty, nicely done, a big beer for sure IMO, definitely worthy of a try, and I would drink this again.

Bottle and served in my Expedition snifter: A beautiful display of jet black topped by a small but thick creamy head and left excellent lace upon the glassware. The aroma has notes of charred, toasty, husky, and chocolate malts. Hint of coffee sometimes as well. Found grapefruit and apple esters, minor resiny hops, and even some star anise. The taste is a powerful attack of sharp bittersweet characteristics of hops, espresso, burnt sugar, and warming alcohol which fit within the framework of the flavor profile. Moderately spicy and chalky upon the finish. The mouth feel is lush and aggressive, oily and yet biting at the same time. The finish is astringent to some degree and has a long warming trend. Overall a damn fine brew but I would be hard pressed to include it among the top 50 Imperial Stouts I have had (now at 197).

Bottle from Keg Liqour. Poured black color with a moderate to large frothy brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Heavy toasted dark chocolate and sweet fruit with a small alcohol aroma. Full body with a creamy texture. Heavy sweet chocolate malt flavor with a heavy bittersweet finish of long duration. This is a heavy standout beer.

I finally got the courage to open this bottle that I bought a few months ago at The Market of Choice in Ashland, Oregon because it was the only one I had. After peeling off the foil and pulling out the cork it poured like used motor oil and raised a small dark tan head and left very gluey lacing rings. Nose is strongly of alcohol with burnt malts and ripe fruit. Very thick in the mouth. If feels like it looks and smells...rich. The flavor is sweet and alcoholic with coffee. The finish is bitter and like two day old espresso. This is for sipping and while very interesting was not quite as enjoyable as many other top flight Imperial Stouts.
