Holding on to this bottle for a while, pours deep viscous black with a thin tan head with a big complex nose. Coffee, roasted malts and alcohol. The flavor is the same with the addition of sweet stone and vinous fruits. Creamy mouthfeel.

Not much head,some coverage of froth in a thick dark Imp/Stout,aroma raisin other dark fruit,plum,soy hint molasses liccorice,alcohol,chocolate,caramel.Flavour bitterfirst up is superb as is the smooth mildly gritty taste,plenty of alcohol even with the good tastes of caramel chocolate roasted,liccorice soy raisin plum like even fig sweetness hint,finish superb lasting bitter strong flavours,top stuff.

Pours a dark chocolate brown with close to no head just a little tan head. Aroma is again largly alcohol. Flavor is very choolatey with quite a bit of alcohol. body is creamy with light carbonation.

pour softly and alow the bear to grow a nice head, watching the brown roe like bubbles grow and settle is half the fun. black is and apt name. from the first it is clear that the beer is massive at %17.5, good night. obvious nose of hard liquor and coffee cream and unusual notes of fresh pear. bit and developed with a strong bit. drinks like irish cream and finishes like boiled down espresso. dark chocolate is also present. let it take over and warm you as you warm it. some of the strength gives way to a sour sweetness and a great beer to experence.

From LIC, Aarhus, DK. Bottled, 260608. Black with a brownish head. Aroma is vinous. Flavor is long lasting of malt - incl. roasted barley - caramel, chocolate, liqourice and hop bitterness.

bottle. Super dark pour with no head. Strong alcohol aroma, soy sauce, dark fruit. Surprisingly smooth, alcohol is very evident, but not overwhelming. Dark dry fruity very interesting, very warming.

Pours a viscous jet black body with no head to speak of. Nose has a heap of spirity alcohol, with dark chocolate, coffee, rum & raisin. Some sweetness detectable also. Palate is big & rich, with alot of sweetness, i was actually expecting this to be overly astringent but am surprised to find it goes the other way. Nose translates well to the palate. Finishes with lingering sweetness & dark roast, though the dark roast doesnt hang around as long as i thought...finish almost seems a little short, if that makes sense. Also considerable abv heat on the finish. I actually really liked it, even though it probably doesn’t sound that way. Would prefer a drier roastier dark malt presence on the finish to balance out the sweetness. Still, highly recommend & probably prefer to the black hole.

Pours a deep deep black with a small beige head. Aroma is big time sweet with dark fruits, vanilla, chocolate and mild alcohol. The flavor has more of an alcohol bite although not as much as you’d expect from a beer of this strength. Nice fruity notes, roasted grains, chocolate and some citrus. Large bodied, chewy texture. Long long sweet finish.
