Pours a deep deep black with a small beige head. Aroma is big time sweet with dark fruits, vanilla, chocolate and mild alcohol. The flavor has more of an alcohol bite although not as much as you’d expect from a beer of this strength. Nice fruity notes, roasted grains, chocolate and some citrus. Large bodied, chewy texture. Long long sweet finish.

What a strange name for a very individual beer.Black and very flat with as you would expect a strong presence of alcohol. Roasted sherry like flavours dominate. Drunk on a cold winters night and reached the spots other beers could not come near.

Bottle... Miami Beach Spring Beer Fling ’08 ... Black ale with a mid-sized, creamy, beige head. Fantastic retention. The nose proffers Flemish notes followed closely by cocoa, blackstrap molasses, smoke, tire rubber, charcoal, tobacco and, of course, alcohol. Full-bodied with an acerbic mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Sweet, but very burnt and bitter as well. Berries of some kind. Sweet, charred, dark berry finish goes on and on. Thanks to mgumby10 for the sample!

Aroma: picking up some dark caramel sweetness in the aroma in addition to the rich roasted and dark chocolate, alcohol is coming through after a while adding to the winey sweetness,
Overall: the winey caramel sweetness is much more up front, still dominated by heavy roast and bitter dark chocolate, the sweetness starts to pick up a candy sweetness, alcohol kicks in big time upon warming,

Sweet light chocolate or coffee aroma. Sweet body with a light alcohol note. Sweet coffee palate with a nice alcohol warmth. Very nice.

Super Strong, Super Sweet, Super Bitter, and its pretty super. its taste is pure espresso with lots of sugar and minor touch of tartness. NOT a session beer, drink it slowly, but drink it.

Bottle. Body-jet black with a beige loose head. Nose-alcohol vapors, Starbucks coffee liquor, pecan shells, herbal, smells like coffee syrup. Taste-B-I-T-T-E-R, alcohol burn, sweet like brown sugar, espresso grounds, cough syrup like finish, sweet unami. Like SATB without the maple. Sweetens as it warms. Like Starbucks coffee liquor with some cream and honey and a crap ton of alcohol.

Pours jet black with coffee smell. The coffee hits you in the finish,an excellent puckering bitterness that squares integrates with sweetness. Great for what it is. Medium plus mouthfeel. The 17.5% is definately a closer, have a bed nearby.
