Commercial Description:
All Others Pale - as in ’All Others Pale By Comparison’ - is our cheeky take on an American tradition, but naturally with a Danish touch. It is a well-balanced, light-bodied thirst quencher, perfect after a hard day’s work or on hot summer days...but loads of fresh green hops and a subtle malty background make this pale ale the refreshing choice all year round!
Ingredients : Water, malt (maris ottar pale, munich, carapils and caramunich), flaked oats, hops (simcoe, centennial, amarillo and nugget) and ale yeast.

Very good pale, very floral fruity hops, apricot and citrus, crisp and dry finish. Finish was bitter, but not sharp, more of the floralness of the hops leaves the finish refreshing and a touch tangy from the grapefruit and citrus hops.

This bottled brew form Indianapolis, IN poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a hazy orange brown colored typically carbonated body. The aroma was mild malty and had a noticible lack of hops. The mouth feel was tingly and crisp. It was hoppy yet thin on flavor. Disapppinting.

375ml bottle. Pours a deep copper with a slight haze. The head pours thick and light tan in color and leaves large swaths of lace on the glass. The aroma is thick and sticky - like a big ol’, nasty, hoppy American Barleywine: green with resiny, bitter grapefruit rind hops and with a subtle, sticky, molasses syrup sweet note underneath. The flavor is much more approachable than the aroma would imply: not at all thick and sticky and titanic. It is still quite a powerful tasting brew for only 6% abv, full of resiny, fresh, citrus hops and thick waves of bready malts that have a well-balanced dose of caramel malts to give just enough sweetness to counteract the huge wads of hops. At mid-palate, the bitterness gets so big that you’d sweat it was a Double IPA - it’s nearly astringent. The malt backbone tries to keep pace through most of the finish, but finally gives up - hops win this race. The finish is bitter with grapefruit rind citrus bitterness and a touch of earthy and leafy/grassy bitterness, too. The mouthfeel is medium-full in body but is greatly lightened by the presence of many, many bubbles - almost too many bubbles, heightening the bitterness with the harsh touch of carbonic acid. Overall, an interesting beer and truly packed with flavor. But a bit too bitter and unbalanced to be drinkable. Like the Jackie Brown, the beer is very tasty and scores high marks but, in the end, is too damned bitter to be quaffable. And quaffability is a trait I enjoy in my American Pale Ales...

Nice hazy orange with a mammoth, fluffy head. Intense citrus and pine hops, grapefruit, light pineapple, and some hidden caramel malt. Smooth bodied, though the hop bite makes you second guess that. Flavor is grapefruit, pine, light malt, and fairly oily. Not a flavor explosion like the aroma would make you believe but tasty none the less. The bitterness comes on as it finishes then recedes to a soft, lingering sting on the tongue. Very nice.

Bottle. Medium sized ivory head that mostly diminished, semi-fizzy, fair amount of lacing, fast rising carbonation, hazy, and an orange golden hue. The aroma was malt, caramel, citrus hops, and grapefruit. Ditto for the flavor with some bitterness. Tingly mouthfeel and medium bodied. A very quaffable beer, easy to drink, not complex, nicely balanced, worthy of a try, and a beer I would drink again.

Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a hude, creamy, stable and persistent white head. The aroma is dominated by American hops, with their piney character. Lightly malty, there are notes of grapefruit and pineapple. The flavour is, no surprise, hoppy, with some malt lying underneath, and a good fruitiness. Again notes of pineapple and grapefruit and some grass. Medium body, average/lively carbonation, dry long finish with high bitterness that lingers in your mouth for a long time. Very tasty.

500ml bottle purchased at ølbutikken, Copenhagen. Rocky, white head with great laceworks covering a clear, dark amber body. Nice odor of succulent hops and a touch of almond. The flavour consists of tangy oranges and sappy hops with bready malts beneath leaving with rounded bitterness on a high level. Moderate mouthfeel (shared with Arild and Finn Arvid, 02.06.2008).

Bottled. Hazy amber with an orange head. Caramelle and nuts, grassy hoppiness. Pretty malty with a bitter finish.
