Commercial Description:
All Others Pale - as in ’All Others Pale By Comparison’ - is our cheeky take on an American tradition, but naturally with a Danish touch. It is a well-balanced, light-bodied thirst quencher, perfect after a hard day’s work or on hot summer days...but loads of fresh green hops and a subtle malty background make this pale ale the refreshing choice all year round!
Ingredients : Water, malt (maris ottar pale, munich, carapils and caramunich), flaked oats, hops (simcoe, centennial, amarillo and nugget) and ale yeast.

The palate and the bitter ending gives away that this ought to be a great beer, put personally i don’t like the pine flavor, which ruins it all. (for me) If the pine was not as dominant, i’d rate it somewhat higher. I feel like someone put a pine tree in my glass of beer. Too much pine ;-)

Somewhat surprized by the high average in ratings. Don’t get me wrong - This is a dandy APA and quite sessionable, but it isn’t the end-all of the style. Perhaps it’s that local bias thing that I read about all the time in the Forums...
Anywhat - It’s got a light amber body with a substantial & sustained head that coats the glass thoroughly with Belgian lace. The aroma is rife with fresh cirtus hoppy scents - tart oranges, pink grapefruit, lemon zest - and a bit of pine all supported by a caramel sweetness. Very well balanced in the flavor, the malt and the hops agreeing to take credit for the refreshing flavor as a unit. The hops cheat in the finish and deliver a refreshing dry bitterness that lingers for some time. I could see drinking a bunch of these in a session were the price (in Chicago) not so prohibitive.

16.9 oz. bottle via trade with tytoanderso - Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a one finger thick off white head. Very light spotty lacing. Aroma is big citrus, pine, and floral hops. Flavor is mostly the fore mentioned hops with very little malt to back it. Flavor comes around a bit as the beer warms, but it’s mostly a hop forward beer. Light to medium body. Slight astringent aftertaste. Overall a pretty good beer. Thanks Tyler.

My rating No. 1575: I’m heartened that this can now be found in Indiana. Bottle. Enormous citric nose with powerful tropical fruit, all the usual suspects (grapefruit, lemon, orange, lychee, pine) and a few more (mango, pineapple) with a bit of kitty litter. Deep amber pour with a large rocky beige head. Crisp, bone-dry (water-sucking), brutally bitter, crackery taste, aftereffects of resin without the grit. Fruity hoppy notes very much in the background, with bitter, dry, sharp hops dominant. Medium body, alcohol, well-hidden. Tongue feels like sandpaper after all the hop abuse. Superbly crafted palate buster! And $9 for a half-liter.

0.5 l bottle. Copper color with creamy head. Sweetish, flowery and honeyish aroma with dull dry hops. Much dryer yet caramelly flavor with flowery and fruity hops as well as notes of dull dry hops. Fruity, bitter and yeasty finish.

Bottle from John’s Grocery in Iowa City. Hazy deep ornage amber body with a yellowish khaki head. The aroma is rich grapefruit with some hints of pine and almonds. The body is fairly dry with a strong note of pine resin and grapefruit rind. There is also some burnt bread crust. The mouthfeel is a little thin, but that is ok in this thirst quencher. A great example of the style.

bottle from pizza port. Clear golden/orange amber with a fizzy white head. Strong malty caramel orange and grapefruit aroma. Thick velvet palate. Rich butter, burnt caramel, and lemon taste with a mild bitterness.
