Sharp hoppy aroma with fruity and caramel hints. Taste carries grapefruit notes and ends with a long, robust bitter finish. Very good Pale Ale. tupalev (2617), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Unique hop aroma - -not spicy, not sweet, nor citrusy, sort of a combo. Orange, small white head. Love the taste - same odd hop combo + throw in a malt combo I have never encountered before and you have one unique pale ale. Nutty, woody, earthy too. I quite enjoyed it. unclemattie (2414), Georgia, USA

Hints of a spicy green, like cabbage...no, bok choy! Tastes like green vegetables. Finishes with a super nice bitterness. Yum, pass the summer rolls... 03 may 08. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 8, 2009 The bottle looks really great, the beer in the glass also. Starts a bit alcoholic, modest woody, a bit spicy. Finish more woody, complex, also a bit earthy. Very interesting. Antother great Mikkeller-beer!

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2009 1pint .9oz bottle. Pours a crystal clear, orangish red body with a finger-width, foamy, off-white head that bubbles away quickly and leaves lots of lacing on the surface with some moderate sticky lacing on the glass. Aroma is heavily sweet, but has lots of aromatic floral hops as well. The big and sweet caramels have lots of apricots, berries, and melons protruding while the initial floral hops seem to give way to more of a dull, earthy bitterness with some citrus and pine. Flavor is quite interesting. Starts out quite sour with a bit of metallic grapefruit. Yields to a very bitter orange peel and sweet caramel that has a bit of a fruitcake bready taste. Has more of the melons and berries from the aroma before finishing with a spicy and herbal bitterness that dries relatively quick and leaves a light puckering sour flavor. Lingers with some heavier earth as well as citrus, melon, and sweet caramel. Palate is medium to full bodied and chewy. Overall, an interesting "pale ale." There are a lot of different things going on here, but it just doesn’t seem to rub me the right way. It seems to be in balance one second and then seems out of balance the next. Big time flavor, but something seems off, making it difficult for me to set this apart from the rest. OliverG (85), montreal, Quebec, Canada
