Head leaves some lacing but not much. Nose is piny/earthy hops, sweet caramel and some malt. Taste is hoppy, piny and citrusy. Some malt in the background and some sweetness. Some fruits also. Finish is bitter and piny sweet. All in all this is quite hoppy and bitter but rather drinkable and well made. Not much complexity but just well done.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 30, 2009 Bottle. Clear orange pour with a medium off white head and spotty stick. Nice soft aroma of clear malts, orange and pine. Taste is along the same lines with pepper and grass balancing out the sweat caramel malts and citrus. Great medium texture with light tingly carbonation. Yet another brilliant Mikkeller. gunnfryd (3641), Kristiansand, Norway

Some fruit, spice, nice full body, a touch of hops and earth. Some grain, and caramel sweetness and nice yeast and spice round it out. Drinkable and refreshing and fun. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 28, 2009 Courtesy of Blazer06. I kept hearing this was a really good Pale Ale. I’m glad to finally try it. It pours clear copper with gold edges and tan head. The aroma has a nice load of citrus hops, some sweet malts and a touch of spicy hops too. The taste has formidable (for the style) spice and citrus hops with some earthy hops in the background for good measure. The sweet malts attempt to make an appearance from time to time but never really get in the way of the hoppiness. BiddleBrau (335), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 24, 2009 Amber, clear with thin off white head. Malt aroma, some citrus and something else, something funky a bit unappealing. Very earthy and green, dry and grassy. Based on other ratings, maybe this was a bad bottle. I guess I’ll have to give it another go.
