250ml nip shared by after4ever. Pours a cloudy rusty amber brown color with very little head. Nose is pure camp fire and smoked meat with some malty sweetness down low. Taste is more of the same, but the sweet caramel comes through a bit more and the abv warms a bit on the way down. I am a sucker for smoked beers, so I really enjoyed this one. Thanks for sharing this treat Tom!

Copenhagen, Feb 09. Not one of my favourite Mikkellers, but a decent beer. It pours a very hazy dark amber with a small amount of faint off-white head. The nose is very strongly smokey with peat and tar. Body is full with more smoke, mollassess and oak. Is a bit too sharp from the high alcohol content.

Bottle shared by after4ever. The nose is very ashy and smokey with a slight hint of salty bacon and sweetness. Hazy shade of orange with a thin tan head. Flavors of salty smoke with some underlying fruity sweetness and caramel. More smoke and a touch of dry earthy flavors probably from the barrel. Long dry finish with a good hefty dose of alcohol. A touch of hop bitterness tries to peak through, but the smoke flavors seem to drown it out.

Bottle 25cl. @ home.
Unclear dark brown color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, carame, dark berry, raisin, prune, moderate to heavy smoke, burnt plastic, chimney smoke. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration. It is okay because of the sweet flavor and alcohol. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20081119]

Bottle. Deep amber body with a medium long lasting off-white head. Nice peaty whisky like aroma with tons of malt. Some vanilla notes. Full bodied. Sweet malty flavour with smoke, vanilla, honey, dark fruit, peat and mollasses. Wow! I love it. This one really kick me straight in the face.

Dark red-brown colored with little yellow head. Rich smoke aroma here with tar, peat, very whiskey like vanilla aroma here. Medium to full bodied. Flavor is also whiskey-like with smoke and vanilla, aftertaste is still nothing bit excellent whiskey-smoke.

Amber with a lasting white head. Malty aroma with peat smoke and a little American hops. Dry and malty flavour with peat and tannin notes.

Although I wasn’t there I got the possibility some weeks later and it was a nice smoked rauchwine, which I never before had tasted in that suit. Oak, maltsugar and smoke, like medicine for good people, but could be better!
