No head ot speak of, over quite hazy red-brown beer. Nice smoked nose, black cardemoms if ever, fresh pipe tobacco and lurking brandy-like alcohol. Very alcoholic taste, with expressly smoked notes (woodfire), sweet, and again black cardemom. Very slick, oily, velvety MF and of course full bodied. Ah, this is again a quite nice one. I like Baadi elachi, and I wonder if it is ever really used. Hint, hint,...

It’s hazy red-brown with a small dense head. The aroma has notes of smoke, roasted malt, sweetness, raisin, caramel and slightly fruity hops. The flavour has sweetness, but not too strong, and notes of smoke, roasted malt, caramel, oak, tannic-acid and the finish is very long. It’s a very, very nice smoked beer.

Bottle. Deep amber body with a medium long lasting off-white head. Nice peaty whisky like aroma with tons of malt. Some vanilla notes. Full bodied. Sweet malty flavour with smoke, vanilla, honey, dark fruit, peat and mollasses. Wow! I love it. This one really kick me straight in the face.

Cellared for about seven month after I bought the 250ml bottle at Mikkeller Special Release Event, Copenhagen Sept. 08. Off-white ring around the rim of the glass. Deep dark russet-brown body with good clarity, more opaque after the second pour with some of the sediments. Strong peaty smoked aroma with malty notes. Immediate smoked flavour gradually pushed into the background by dried and dark fruits, almost like sweet, fruity jam. Lasting bitter ending. The warming brandy alcohol is nicely integrated in an almost perfect crafted interpretation of the style (just the right one on a Black Friday eve, Tromsø 10.04.2009).

Bottle at home - shared with Mette, the night before I leave for GABF. Murkey red/brown (mahogony) - small fast disappearing offwhite head. What a lovely aroma of: smoke, nuts, chocolate, light roasted, wood, oak and tobacco. Taste: Wood, oak, smoke, berries, honey, bondfire, tobacco, cigar, light sweetness, roasted, nutty, raisins, light alcohollic burn. Lovely - thanks Mikkel.

250 ml bottle - thanks again to after4ever for another Mikkeller gem; pours light brown and hazy with thin white head; smokey aromas are sweet and subtle; very strong and sweet with flavors of caramel, hops and dank fruit; perfect amount of smoke and really quite an amazing brew; in a lineup of crazy stouts, this might have been my fav

Bottle. Reddish brown color, hazy. Smoky aroma. Ash, cigars, mango. Malty sweet flavor initially, but the sweetness is challenged by a firm smokiness like from peat, tar, cigars. Banana and mango. Medium bodied. Very well balanced, if you like smoke. The alcohol is hardly noticed. A brave and excellent beer.

Bottle Amber to copper, deep brown body. Off-white head. Aroma of smoke, wine, red port, hints of smoked bacon, barrels, grapes, caramel malts, fenols and 4VG. Quite nice aroma, at first I thought it to be very smokey, but it is actually quite complex, also due to barel aging. Heavily (bit harsh) bitter, lightly sweet flavour. Fully bodied, averagily carbonated. Combines mellowness of barel aging very good with the smked malts. Quite nice beer.
