Chilli burns nicely at back of throat but doesn’t burn the tongue. Some of that choc comes through. Bit harsh, but better than some chilli beers. austone (1039), Turku; Pori, Finland

Flavor is mucho coffee, dry cocoa, quite strong burning chili, truly lingering. Flat mouthfeel. I just know I’d like it more without that chili.. cgarvieuk (4212), Edinburgh, Scotland

This was all that a chilli beer should be ... Deep deep black ... Sweet malt nose ... very soft mouth feel ... loads of chocolate ... quite a lot of chilli (mmm chillies) ... very deep rich flavour ... with just the right amount of burn... The chilli is clearly present and got a little kick but doesnt destroy the other aspects of teh beer.
I do hope this appears in bottles, or maybe i open a Beer Geek drop in a couple of dried chillies, recap, leave it a few days and see what happens Rune (2848), Tromsø, Norway
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2008 Pleasant aromas of chocolate mixed with chilli spices. Solid taste of roasted coffee and chocolate sweetness with the chilli pepper coming through on the swallow, and lingering in the mouth for quite a while. However, the overall impression is a rather well balanced brew. Black body, floating patches (sampled at EBF on a Saturday afternoon, 13.09.2008). asheft (1438), Marburg, Germany

Black malt aroma with hints of lovely jalapeno and chocolate, though a bit subdued. Black with no cover. Smooth dark chocolate flavour with some nippy burnt peppery spice that’s about the level of a "mild" salsa. Sweetness is balanced by bitterness and spiciness. Medium body, dry, warming from both ethanol and pepper, slightly bitter finish. tarjei (1757), Bryne, Norway

Aroma is coffee, chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor is much the same, and then you´ve got the chilli... I think it´s really nice. lassem (312), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 29, 2008 Cask served on Beer Festival in Copenhagen. A dark brown - no head - appearence. Nose are with coffee, chocolate, yeasts and oats. The taste is vinoes with burned malts, chocolate and that it hits you... the chilli... and it bites you all the way down your throat...Linda lovelace-style. Mouthfeel are flat due to the cask serving...and then hot. The finish is bitter and is dominated by the chili-wise hotness. #120 Adenila (957), Denmark

If the mikkeller simcoe ipa hadnt killed my tastebuds, i was sure this one would. Very dark brown look. Roasted malt and coffee aroma along with raw chocolate and chilli. The chilli is very noticeable in the flavor, more than in any other chili beers i’ve had, but all in all i enjoy the regular version alot more.
