Imbued throughout with a big, dry chocolate character. Coffe and roast malt are in the mix but take a back seat to the chocolate. Full, rich mouthfeel but there’s also some bitterness that prevents it being too opulent or heavy. Up there with the best.

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 4, 2006 Draught. Dark with brown head. Licorice, tobacco and sweetness in aroma. Flavour of licorice and tobacco with sweetness, so aroma and flavour adds up pretty nicely. Slightly bitter and quite soft. I recall the regular one ending up at 4.4, so something in this experiment went well. Jst stop messing with my beer and my head. It’s too confusing... JohnC (2254), Mission Viejo, California, USA

The body of this beer is a deep brownish black and it holds a pinky sized dark mocha head that is creamy and lasting.
<P>
Dark roasted malts, black chocolate, dark underripe fruits, burnt malt and espresso make up the aroma.
<P>
Huge burnt bitter espresso flavor in the fore is buttressed by more bitter darl chocolate. It gets slightly fruity with unripe cherry/blueberry/plum in the middle. There is also a hint of less bitter fresh roasted coffee gorunds. The finish gives a dash of cocoa flavor and some dryness before finishing burnt bitter again.
