Thin dark head. Pitch black body. Soft burnt sooty aroma with coffee notes. Taste is oily burnt coffee, somewhat dryish. Good, but maybe slightly one-dimensional. (0.5l bottle.)

Growlered. Nose is rich, roasted, semi-sharp coffee, not too strong with the coffee influence though, but still decent. More black smoked malts and charred grains in the flavor. Creamy up front, full of rich creamy coffee. Not as complex as other coffee stouts, not as robust as others, but still some very drinkable stuff.

Intens warm black coloured beer with a creamy Beige-brown head. The aroma is well in balance. It has very complex roasted accents that reminds me to the coffee aroma’s that came free from the coffee roaster at the Santos Palace. In my childhood, I helped from time to time with roasting coffee beans at the Santos (It was next to our door). Along with the coffee aroma’s, there are loads of other stuff going on. Treackle, Cadico sirup, hints of tar and soft Dutch drop. In the second fase, some fruity touches are comming forward. Hints of Confit the cerrises, dry figgs and burned fruits on top of a fruitpie that has been to long in a to hot oven. The taste is overwhelming and elegant at the same time. It has a smooth and sliky mouthfeel and the balance is almost perfect. It has deep bitterich hints of burned malts, coffee, burned edges of sweet bread and tar. It has a fine slight sweetness and a exciting refresching hoppyness. In the middel pallet you can notice touches of the best of bitter chocolate (Belgian of course) along with touches of vanilla, butter caramels and Ricola = Swiss herb Bonbons. For me, it needs a little more carbonation, but overall, this is a great stout. I hope to retaste this beer in the near future, because i diddend had this one in the best condition.

Draught
Black color. As an ice coffee should be. Soft. Malt, coffee, roasted malt, high bitterness… just in one word: good!

Draught at Olbutikken. Extremely nice stout, not that different from the original version. Black colour w. light-brown head, beatiful foam. Flavor is superb, especially the combination of hops and coffee-flavour is right up my alley. Superb and long-lasting finish. A definite favorite...

Draught – Black body, brown head, a few laces; Quite hoppy complex nose, that lacks a bit of depth, a bit to chocolate soft to compete with the “normal” – version, lots of milk chocolate that is a bit to apparent and makes the nose very soft, bitter chocolate, cold coffee (more acidy coffee notes would bring this beer good); Full creamy textured body with great balance; Into a long finish that lacks power and complexity: full of not all that intense or interesting cold coffee, bitter chocolate, some English licorice and a bit harsh orange peel (maybe most of the aroma of the finish comes from the coffee)

Bottle. Strange with a draft version on bottle but never mind. Brown quickly disappearing head. Pitch black body. Roasted malt aroma with coffee notes. Pleasant coffee flavor with a dry bitterness.
