I wish my coffee at breakfast smelt like this one (it already looks like my coffee). A moderately bitter, lightly sweet initial flavour. Lightly bitter finish. Very soft mouthfeel, but not fully bodied as other stouts. Very refined. thebeertourist (2799), Oslo, Norway
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 25, 2006 On tap at Ølbaren. Almost black with a medium, creamy beige head. Predominantly roasted aroma. Dry, earthy moss-like flavours with good bitterness. Some underlying fruitiness. A good dry stout. Gusgus (176), Mölndal, Sweden

First, let me state that I’m not a big fan of coffee stout. This one has a very subtle coffee aroma that is dominated by a slightly smokey tobacco and licorice roastiness that is slightly acrid. Taste is mostly roasted bitterness with some supporting malt sweetness. Round and medium full body. Very aggressive bitterness that finishes harsh and course, which brings down the score a lot. Could do a lot better with a more noble hop bitterness. duff (5475), Surrey, Greater London, England
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | May 24, 2006 Draught@Ølbaren. Probably one of my favourite beers of the year so far. Quite similiar to the bottled version, but this seem perhaps a touch rounder, with a slightly more bitter, roasted, mocha and chocolate flavours. Lots of coffee in here, yet it seems balanced enough and is quite drinkable for such an intenesley flavoured beer. I haven’t found too many coffee infused beers which make a lasting impression on me, but this one has pretty much done it for me. Almost perfect for me. elektronikfagtekniker (892), kbh, Denmark

Aroma of roast, coffee and cocoa. Full and rich. Flavour is roasted, coffeeish, has cocoanotes and is quite burnt. Full bodied. Very smooth and balanced brew. Ends on a quite roasty coffeenote with quite some bitterness. Is rather dry. Papsoe (14996), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 22, 2006 (Bottle 50 cl) Pours black and opaque with a perfect, thick and creamy cappuchinoish head with good retention. Lovely aroma of burned malt and coffee. A bit too heavily carbonated. Solid, ful body with lots of burned malt and coffee accents with a discreet, hoppy finish. 190506 thewolf (5782), Kolding, Denmark
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | May 22, 2006 Pours big, thick and black with brown head. The aroma is not as powerful as you’d expect and the different tones is swallowed in coffee. The taste though, is more complicated, leaving the coffee on the side to provide bittterness and body. Instead it leaves traces of flowery sweetness and liquorice. Super body throughout.
