Sep 16, 2006 [Another century celebrated with a Mikkeller beer - this time 6700] A pitch black beer with a dark brown, but quite fast collapsing, head. The aroma is powerful with notes of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, and oatmeal. The flavor is powerful, at first a malt sweetness appears, which is then forced in the background by very powerful chocolate note, of dark very bitter desert chocolate, which in time mixes with a growing note of coffee. The coffee note carries all the way thru to the end getting more and more bitter, and in the aftertaste it also gets that oily note from chewing on well roasted coffee beans. Somewhere in the middle of it all there’s also a note of oatmeal.

May 22, 2006 (Bottle 50 cl) Pours black and opaque with a perfect, thick and creamy cappuchinoish head with good retention. Lovely aroma of burned malt and coffee. A bit too heavily carbonated. Solid, ful body with lots of burned malt and coffee accents with a discreet, hoppy finish. 190506

Aug 24, 2006 Quite black colour. Big rich aroma of chocolate, coffee, nuts. Chewy, fairly simple palate with abovementioned characteristics. Not complex, but intense and well-made.
