[Another century celebrated with a Mikkeller beer - this time 8300] Cask. A pitch black beer with a bubbly brown head. The aroma is of very dark bitter sweet dessert chocolate, and ground cocoa beans combined with light notes of grapefruit and coffee. The flavor is very complex with notes of dark bitter chocolate, grapefruit, good coffee, and a good deal of hops, giving it a nicely bitter finish.

A Mes rate: Draught @ Københavnske Øldage. Black and viscous appearance. Definite pooey aroma with vanilla, hazelnut, sherry and the dry hops show through a lot. Totally o.t.t. but great all the same. Flavour echoes the aroma but with very stong coffee (it’s like eating a coffee bean) and heavy alcohol. Amazing length, superb balance mostly aided by the very hoppy finish. Lovely thick oily palate. Not quite as good as the regular Geek but still a bloody incredible beer.

On draught at Copenhague beer festival 2007. Poors a black coloured beer with an off beige small creamy head. Aromas of roasted malts and coffee. Taste is dominated by coffee and chocolate, notes of dried fruits, nice hoppyness but not overwhelming. Perfectly balanced.

(Cask) Completely black and opaque - no head at all. Very burned, coffeish aroma - even a vinous whiff. The body is medium and the dark malts are very burned with distinct hints of coffee. The finish is solidly bitter. But the flatness and the murky, headless appearance really deducts in my book. 110507

Draught. A black beer with a big brown head, great looking beer. This beer dose not smell or taste like pooh at all? but it have a great aroma of roasted malt, coffee, more then the regular Beer Geek, and then there is some chocolate and hops. The taste is rich and of coffee and chocolate with some hops. Medium to full body with a long dry, coffee finish.

Cask at Københavnske Øldage 2007. This is wild. The mouthfeeling is very big. Pitch black - brown edges. Coffee, lots of chokolate (some from the coffee), dried dark fruits, burned, sweetness, fresh hoppy - not too much. Some bitterness in the finish. But fantastic smooth. Almost no carbonation.

Københavnske Øldage 07. Draught. To tell the truth, this is one shitty beer - but only if you think of the weasels that ate the coffee beans before they were used....The color is pitch black, and the head is huge, nice and creamy. The aroma has wonderful notes of nice and bitter coffee and roasted malt. The mouthfeel is oily and the flavour is amazing! It has notes of nice, bitter coffee, chocolate, a light sweetness, a touch of salt and the balance is perfect. The finish is extremely long - well, Mikkeller rules - as always..... 2111
