Aroma is like the original Breakfast, with lots of coffee, but there is also whisky. Flavor is rostaed malt, coffee, dark chocolate and a clear whisky note. Raw, but interesting and nice.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 16, 2009 Big thanks to yespr for this one! The bottle looks great, the beer in the glass is deep black, very small head. Starts malty and strong, not too dry. Notes of wood, coffee and chocolate. Not alcoholic. Finish almost soft, well balanced, still strong malty. Slightly burning aftertaste. Very good! Maria (6309), Thisted, Denmark
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 14, 2009 It’s pitch black with a small, dark brown head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, wood, light whisky and coffee. The mouthfeel is oily. The flavor is very roasted with notes of wood, light whisky, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, light bitterness and weak vanilla in the very long aftertaste. I love the regular Beer Geek Breakfast – and this barreled version is not a competitor to that love... mjs (1534), Helsinki, Finland

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 12, 2009 Very dark brown with a small, tanned head. Aroma of licorice, malt and smoke. Flavor is smoky-malty, sourish, roasty and dry-oaky. Medium-bodied palate with medium carbonation. After just having 1/4 of a Black (Whisky Edition), this is quite mild - although not bad at all. I’m not sure if these milder brews are worth maturing in oak. NoiZe (1372), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands

Dark black color, not much head. Strong aroma of coffee beans (Beer Geek nose), smoke, whisky is not very evident in the aroma. Barreling has made body thinner. Flavor is roasted with tobacco dominating. Very ashy, very easy to drink. Where is whisky? Where is oak or vanilla? OleR (2106), Oslo, Norway
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 4, 2009 Enjoyed with breakfast@RBNAG2009, Vatlandsvåg. A near black beer with a low, dense choco head. Huge aroma of burnt coffee and burnt cocoa. Subtle whisky tones, and a smell of acidic fruits, wood and vanilla. Taste has a strong roasted characather; coffee, dark malts and chocolate. The whisky remains in the background. Some ashy and wooden notes, and a touch of dark fruits. Near full-bodied. Low carbonation level, very smoooth in the mouth. Finishis dry and warming, with a long lasting, roasted and bitter ending. Nice indeed.
