I had waited a long time to get this beer, and finally I found it. After a few days of resting, I simply could not wait any longer, I just had to open it. It’s a pitch black beer with a huge, light brown head and the aroma is simply wonderful, I’m in love! I get notes of bitter chocolate and coffe, and the sensation is so very balanced, that I even before I taste it know, that I’m not going to share this one with anyone.... The flavour - Mamma mia.... I think this must be the best stout I ever sank my greedy teeth into, it’s thick and lovely - ready to be eaten with its notes of porridge and coffee with a hint of chocolate. The coffee flavour is simply wonderful and the oats gives a smooth and soft counterweight, and the balance is unique. The finish is marvellous and very long, and the bitterness develops in an exciting way. I can only say: Mikkeller RULES, they make great beers, and this one is phenomenal...!!! It is a more than worthy beer for my personal rating # 1600.

Aug 19, 2008 50cl bottle from Vinmonopolet. Batch 357. It poured a pitch black colour with an enormous creamy tanned head that settled down slowly in the glass. The aroma smells of coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malts. The flavour is bitter and tastes of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and a hint of alcohol. It has a long, lingering aftertaste.

Aug 17, 2008 very nice brew, interesting combo of oatmeal and coffee. Can smell the sweetness of oatmeal in the aroma. Less sweet than oatmeal stouts but very nice flavour of coffee and some bitter chocolate as well. Good mouthfeel. Very nice brew

Aug 10, 2008 Pours a creamy black with a lasting tan head. Smells of coffee and roasted malt. Mostly tastes of dark, bitter chocolate, but also coffee and hops. Smooth mouth feel. Highly drinkable and enjoyable, but Peche Mortel is still my favorite stout brewed with coffee.

Aug 10, 2008 Decided to be very literal about it and have this as my breakfast with some italian chocolate cake. That was a match made in heaven. There is so much in here to admire, the union of chocolate and coffee, the wonderfully smooth body, the aftertaste of gourmet coffee... And on top of all that this goes down dangerously easy. And there are hops! Oh sweet lord I would get fat on this if I had it available here, in case of an emergency this would be my manly version of chugging down a pint of hagen daaz....

Aug 8, 2008 Bottle from bu11zye, thanks! Pours a rich, dark brown colour with a frothy milk chocolate head. Nice aroma of bitter chocolate and coffee, plus bit of barley wine "fruit". Strong flavour of bitter coffee, roasted malt and some hops. The oatmeal gives it a great mouthfeel. Really phenomenal stout.
