Full bottle. One of the best coffee aromas I have had from a stout. Poured a bit lighter bodied than I expected. Black, near opaque with 3/4 inch of frothy brown head. Nose was HUGE and 2 days later, the bottle here still smells great! Medium bodied and full of robust roasted coffe flavors, sweet chocolates and a bit of nutty dryness and super-dry esspresso roastiness at the finish. Thin, but so easily drinkable at this weight and much more flavor than any beer at this gravity I have ever tasted. Because it isn’t as huge as Founders and Dieu de Ciel, I could see this as a regular beer in my fridge. One of the best beers I have had in a long, long time. Please make more and somehow get these babaies to Chicago!!!!

1 pt .9 fl oz bottle. Aroma is toasted malt, black coffee. Pours as black as can be with a nice head, beautiful lacework. Tastes like a perfect coffee stout. Nice creamy mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Finishes bitter, leaving my mouth tasting like a used coffee pot. That’s a good thing.

Bottle. Black with beautiful chocolate brown head that will not go away. The aroma is truly wonderful - lots of sweet roasted chocolate, strong coffee, rich caramel and oatmeal. Taste is initially sweet though is quickly replaced with a mild bitterness of burnt chocolate. Palate has lots of carbonation (somewhat unexpected) and overall is smooth. This just may be the perfect stout... its hard to imagine anything else as satisfying or as beautifully crafted.

Pours black with a beautiful beige head which leaves an attractive lacing. Nose is full of strong black coffee, dark chocolat an roasted malts. On the palate creamy toffee notes and bitter hop, dark dried fruits, some bayleaves liquorice. Finish is dry. Lovely stout.

Aroma of dark roasted wood and coffee. Appearance is jet black with a dark tan head. Tastes like bitter chocolate, coffee, and the dust from a chocolate malt grinding session. Smooth and rich with a very nice mouthfeel. Certainly well crafted!

Pours espresso black with a thin tan halo of head. Nose is heavy on coffee, not too acidic on the nose, fairly roasty. Taste is thinner than the beer geek brunch, less chewy, less obvious oat character, slight hop bitterness, slight acidic coffee bitterness, flavors arent as rich as expected, but none over shadow the others. nice coffee, roasted malt, oat, and floral hop flavors all play quite well together.

Bottle. Heavy malt notes of dark bread, dark chocolate and strong coffee, moderate resin for the hops, light leather for the yeast, with background notes of raisin, charcoal, toffee and alcohol. Head is average size, creamy/frothy, light brown with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is black. Flavor starts moderately to heavily sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and acidic, moderately bitter and a touch salty. Palate is medium to full, creamy with a soft carbonation and a lightly astringent and dry finish. This has to be the fullest and richest Stout I’ve had to date. Excellent in every respect.

50cl Bottle from De Molen. Pitch black, big beige brown head. Great aroma of sweet chocolate, rich coffee and hops. Flavour is light sweet, chocolate, coffee, roasted/burnt malts, light tar notes, firm citrussy hoppy bitter finish. Smooth mouthfeel, medium to fullbodied. Lovely stuff, also for lunch and dinner.

Poured a dark chocolate brown with an initally thick khaki head which settled down to a thin layer of foam. Strong aromas of coffee and licorice. Super creamy and medium bodied. Bitter cocoa and coffee flavors. Somewhat dry finish. Overall a quality stout.
