Beer poured a dense black body with a biege head, large bubbles. Nose is very port strong. Also coffee notes as well. Taste is very complex with a brett character up front but a strong port character as well and a coffee and chocolate taste to balance out this beer very well.

Sweet with lots of toasted malts. Also aromas of coffee. Hints of sour malty notes. Hints of dark bread and some port notes. Also mellow brett notes. Medium carbonation. Full bodied. Long dry finish with notes of dried dark fruits and coffee. MesandSim (5851), London, Greater London, England
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 15, 2009 A Mes rate. Draught at 1st Borefts Beer Festival. Usual Beer Geek looks so it’s off to a good start. The port doesn’t quite work in the aroma but the brett on top of the Brunch is a glorious addition. Once in the mouth it sings a little more. It never quite feels integrated until you swallow and it all rushes together and has dirty sex. The port gives it a far more fruity character than I was expecting and the brett adds considerably to the already bitter enough finish of the regular Brunch. I’m not getting much from the barrel at all, just the extra fruity feel. Brunch with a dollop of fruit and a hint of sourness. Bloody excellent, but not as good as the original. harrisoni (6798), Ashford, Kent, England

Port on aroma. It is intense, it’s got some nice porter qualities even, really quite grainy malty. A bit too boozy maybe. KimJohansen (7045), Copenhagen V, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Black with a tiny deep beige head. Fairly dry aroma with wood, brett, burned malt and lacto. Somewhat dry flavour with burned malt, dark chocolate, brett, coffee and wood. Finished dry. To much really and I like the original one so much more. MiP (9087), Sønderborg, Denmark
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Handbottled. Rough paint thinner aroma. Almost black colour, seems a little unclear. Thick and very oily mouthfeel. The flavour has more paint thinner, a bit of chemicals. Late roast barley flavour and some sourness that must be the Brett. Not my thing. yespr (12173), Copenhagen O, Denmark
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Handbottled, courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours hazy to black with no head, but not much different from tap apparently. Aroma is fruity and hardroasted malty. Solid port wine and light brett dryness. Dark roasted malt flavoured, very acidic roasted. Soy sauce finish with a light burning touch. I get the underlying Brunch beer, but the brett is rather subdued compared to the port wine influence. Fun experiment, but somewhat unrefined. Theis (3756), Denmark

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 13, 2009 From Ølbutikken - Very very black body with a fast disappearing big bubbled head; Excellent and super interesting nose, the way the overripe sugary sweet cherry aromas blends with the dark roast aromas showing as both darker cane sugar like roast malt aromas and the darker sharper dryer coffee notes are fantastic, in the depths lots and lots of secrets are hidden, but this red berry/dark roast mix is great; The body is incredibly mellow, tons of depth and with a great balance, again the red berries strike with a very light warm and mellow acid note that goes perfect with the very soft velvet fat texture; The finishing aromas has a little flaw with starting but luckily short note of old oak barrel (barrels that has been empty for too long) when that is gone you are back a the perfect mix of the very red fruity cherry notes and mixed in the finish clearly with the bitter roasts and dry fruits from the coffee. Excellent and very interesting.
