Small beige head, over practically jet-black beer. Alcohol in old vats; "hints" of malts, "some" of them coloured. Did I mention alcohol? Rum-like, but very fine, velvety nose. As well as an aroma of cilandro leaf. Fresh-tasting, grassy or leafy-herbal flavour, again superposed on a very outspoken coloured and roasted malts, well, tons of them, and fresh coffee or coffeebeans, burnt beyond belief, and yet tasty. Retronasal only the superb hops explode, and pure carbon. Smooth is an eufemism. This is so slick you could open safes with it. Texture is like swallowing crude oil - if that could be as smooth. This is truly impressive. Most important maybe is that the balance is top - something I found amiss in the Beer Geek Breakfast. Abundant thanks to Dirk and Leen for this one!

250ml bottle shared by pepsican. Thanks! Poured a murky opaque dark brown color with a brown head. Attractive aroma of flowery hops, roasty coffee, vanilla, and some chocolate. There was also an earthy element reminiscent of moss and dust. Full bodied and slightly sweet with moderate bitterness that clung to the back of my throat. Boozy with chocolate, espresso, fig, and burnt stick flavors. There was also a hint of sassafras. Great beer.

papsoe is the man! Black pour with a tan head. Strong coffee and hop aroma. Flavor is intense coffee, hops, smoke, chocolate, and a bit of smoked meat. Milky finish with coffee bitterness. Booze is nice in the back of the finish with some earthy root hanging out.

Botella. Pours a pitch black colour with a big light brown creamy steady long lasting head. Lovely aroma of well roasted amlt and chocolate with coffee and some alcohol. Great mouthfeel! The flavour has lots of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate, dark fruits, alcohol, slight pepper and a pleasant bitterness. Long lasting quite dry very roasty finish. Great tasting heavy brew.

Bottle (RBESG 08): Very dark amber coloured, mid-sized tanned head; tobacco, dried dark fruits, chocolate and also wine in the nose; full dry bitter flavour, quite full bodied as well; roasted malt, chocolate in the long, warming finish. ´Great..........

Bottle, 10.0%. Vinous and very hoppy aroma, grassy and citric. Black colour, seems muddy. Very small dark brown head. Good roasted flavour at first, a little smoke, distinct bitterness. It has a good mouthfeel, probably because of the nice sweetness. Coffee aftertaste.
