Bottle shared with Mr. Vac...... Pours a deep brown hue like freshly brewed coffee from a french press. No head, but you can see the few bubbles around the side slowly fade down glass when swirling the glass gently. Aromas of coffee, bittersweet chocolate, bourbon/Cabernet oak notes and a load of hops. Mouth feel is medium bodied, which is surprising for how thick it looks in the glass. Flavors similar to the aroma but not as complex. Actually quite mild in comparison. Very mellow on the palate and the flavor doesn’t linger. One thing I like about this brew is that the coffee isn’t overwhelming like many coffee stouts, excluding speedway which may be on that side of the fence, but I feel has the perfect balance. Overall, I’m very impressed...maybe I got an old bottle, but I don’t feel this beer deserves the overall rating it has.

Pours with a black body topped by a thin, brown head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet and roasty with nice coffee notes, a little malt, some licorice and a bittersweet chocolate note. A little ash shows through as well. Full bodied and smooth with a little dryness and some warming...low on carbonation.

not one but two bottles provided by the elusive footy...

the pour is quite black with some brick red at the edges. an expansive cocoa colored head fades slowly to a film. there is what seems like a mild bourbon note to the nose... brown sugar, vanilla, oak, chocolate, prunes/red wine, super toasty grain, ashy roasted coffee and a spicy alcohol bite. the flavor is full of coffee, bitter cocoa, vanilla and a load of roast with a dry hoppy kick on the finish. ashiness lingers along with coffee. it’s insanely ashy, bitter and roasty... mmm. seemingly medium bodied as the alcohol and ash probably help to lighten it up a bit. a rich silky texture and a slick smooth mouth feel make me want to linger on this one for a while... possibly ponder why everyone blasted past this one? exquisite. 9/4/9/4/19/4.5

25cl bottle thanks to YGTBSM, tasted along with the weasel version. Black with a brown head. Vinous aroma, with light alcohol, not quite as rich off coffee as the weasel, but adds a nice port-like fruity element that makes up for it. Rich dark chocolate and coffee, with dried fruits. Bitter, but not as much as the weasel, and fruitier as well. Full bodied but lacking the awesome creaminess of the other version. This was quite good, but the awesome coffee and hop combo in the weasel version outshone this a little bit.

Rating #1000. Bottle courtesy of nbutler11 – thanks for the hook-up Nick! Pours a deep space opaque black with a half finger mocha head and slick lacing. The aroma is dark fruits, roasty malt, cocoa and espresso. The taste is dark chocolate, black coffee, charred wood and ashy cocoa with some hoppy bitterness in the finish. The alcohol is pretty well hidden but it’s a definite warmer. Full creamy body. Very good stout – thanks again Nick!

Bottle, cool artwork. Pours a black body with a thin coffee head. Initially a bit sweet with some dark fruit raisin in particular then followed up by a huge roasty coffee. Fruity with a big alcohol burn and a hint of licorice. Rounding this beer out is a heavy malty alcohol and cloying coffee bitterness.

Shared by Rciesla. Thanks broski. I really don’t like this beer. Bitterness and roastiness turns me off. I really don’t see the appeal.
