A big thanks to Footy for bringing 2 bottles of this out to the Bocky tasting. Pours a nice dark black with a light brown head. Aroma is rich coffee, roasty, chocolate, molasses. Flavor is slightly harsh super robust concentrated coffee, chocolate, barley, vanilla molasses and some spices. Really dig the coffee flavors here, and glad to have had the chance to try this one.

Many thanks to footy for opening this at a recent tasting. Pours black with a trim brown head. Brimming with the aroma of dark cocoa and roasted malts. Tastes of both with notes of barley, apple seed, and hops, which I wasn’t expecting at all. Aggressive and highly viscous.

Bottle 25 cl. Pours completely opaque black with a firm, creamy, light brown head. Fat aroma of burned malt and distinct coffee accents. Solid body, some vanilla, plenty of burned malt and dark molasses. Distinct malt bitterness. 271208

Bottle. Body-dark cola with a medium ring of bubbles, nearly opaque. Taste-lightly raw, alcohol, honey, nutmeg, spruce, really well done coffee, sweat sock, good roastiness.

Bottle, thx to Papsoe. It can’t look much more inviting than this one in the glass. It pours a jet black body and on top sits a small but firm, brown head. The aroma is complex as expected, with salty licorice, burnt malts, molasses, mocha coffee and hops. A really big one! The flavor is even better and bitter. Not much more, but a little, with the same salty licorice, burnt malts, molasses and mocha, but the hops are more evident releasing a wonderful bitterness to go with the coffee-like bitterness from the malts. Full-bodied and both dry and sweet. To say it’s an easy drinkable beer would be a lie, but it’s damn tasteful and just lovely. An hour of joy. (081128)

(Courtesy of Papsoe) Black colored with little light brown head. Rich aroma indeed dominating licorice and rich vanilla roastiness, fine hops with bitterness, nuts and flowers and thin alcohol, WOAA! Medium to full bodied. Flavor is also very rich with roastiness and vanilla-wooden notes, some caramel also present. Aftertaste turns to hopped one with roastiness still. Well, aroma is something to die for, flavor is also excellent.

Big thanks to the brothers who hooked me up. Appearance was black with a very little tan head. Aroma was smoke, coffee, bacon and some frutiness. Taste was much the same, salty throughout, and nice chocolate roast character with a bitter finish. Well done, hopefully we meet again.

Bottle (First Beer of the New Year) thanks to Theis poured a translucent dark b rown with a small lasting brown head. Aromas of dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, roasted malt, licorice and light smoke. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of coffee, bitter chocolate, roasted malt, marshmallow, smoke, light charcoal and a hint of licorice with a smooth dry lingering bitter roasty finish.
