Bottle from Fin, with Craig, Stella, Fin, Loz and Traci, at the "What’s This Label Supposed To Be Anyway?" tasting. Cheers Fin!

Black, brown highlights. No head. Lots of green walnut aroma, roast beef, coffee, rum. Nice soft mouthfeel. Burned husky roast, warm chocolate, metallic husky finish. Lots of hops, lots of flavor, but not nearly as focused as the regular BGB.

25cL bottle. Big thanks to my cousin, ggaughan for this treat! Pours deep black, capped with a thin brown head. Aroma of bakers chocolate, coffee, oats, with citric hops and salt in the background. Intense dark chocolate flavor, with coffee, tar, ash, and grapefruity hops. Long grapefruit finish. Beautiful, velvety smooth mouthfeel. Nice, intense imperial stout. I’m really glad I had the opportunity to try this. Thanks, Greg.

Tasting with Casey, Traci, Craig, Stella and Loz 27-09-08 this bottle brought along by Fin The hops and coffee dominate the aroma on this one, beer is fabulously pitch black. Quite thick tarry, oily mouthfeel, but I find this a bit claggy in the mouth bitterness is very prominent and whilst not really my thing, am glad to have tried it.

25cl bottle, with a big thank you shout out to jasonm from over on BeerAdvocate! Pours a syrupy looking dark black with a creamy two finger brown head that drifts to a thin but complete covering, good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is powerful, with heavy roast, dark chocolate, espresso, some ripe dark fruits, and as weird as it sounds German chocolate cake comes to mind. Flavor is reminiscent of an espresso shot, with more dark chocolate, overripe dark fruits, a sharp, almost juicy sweetness quickly followed by a lasting bitterness that seems to come both from hops and the espresso qualities. This one definitely cranks up the intensity, but is right up my alley! Thanks again for the chance to try this rare treat Jason!

Bottled(250ml). -Courtesy of Papsoe, shared with Doggythedog (thanks to both of them for giving and sharing).
Deep black coloured, small brown head, roasted malty chocolate nose with touch of orange. Strong roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and hoppy taste with smokey notes. Dangerously drinkable for 10%. Light fruity hoppy bitterness in the finish.

25cl bottle. Pours pitch black with a small creamy brown head & lacings. Nose is lovely - vinous, sweet, roasted, coffee, hops & licorice. Velvetly smooth & soft mouthfeel. Oily & sticky. Low carbonation. Lasting bitterness from hops & roast in the end. Nice!

Bottle. Enormous thanks to Papsoe for giving this to me at the RBESG08. Shared with ogivlado. Poured a black body witha small brown head. Strong malty nose with notes of orange, jaffa cakes, chocolate and coffee. Aromatic hops (lime seems to be the agrume here) perching in front off a roasty maltiness in form of dark chocolate. Coffee again. A superb mix of flavours... The body is just right, not too heavy, not too light. Strong bitter hoppy aftertaste. Damn... one of the best 3 imperial stouts I’ve ever had turns up to be from Mikkeller whose other IS’s I didn’t like much (never head the BG Breakfast, mind you), and it was the one that grew on me the fastest. This was one successful experiment.
