(Bottled) Almost black with a small, tanned head. Strongly peaty, even stingy, woody and slightly smoky aroma with very little of the original beer present. Flavor is also more like whiskey than beer, with very strong peaty-tannic bitterness. Medium to full body with low carbonation. The peatiness is too intrusive for my taste in this one. Better than whiskey, but clearly less enjoyable (for me) than the original Beer Geek Brunch Weasel - or even the Highland edition.

Bottle. Rich aroma of tar, smoke and burned coffee. Very dark brown colour with brown head. Interesting flavour with a mixture of liquorice, coffee, tar and lots of smoke and wood. Soft mouthfeel, but ends up dry and bitter from the hops. A wood- and whiskeylike aftertaste.

Bottled at Örebro Öl- och Whiskeyfestival. Completely black, rich brown head. Sweet and full bodied with lots of licorice and peat. Bold, but not assaulting. Hugely malty, lots of coffee, lot of whixky. Salty peaty bitterness. Ramps up things perhaps one step too far, but manages to stay on track.

Bottle at home - fell off a truck or something. Black beer, dark brown head, probably the darkest head I’ve seen! Strong smoke and peat aroma, BrewDog Paradox Smokehead comes to mind. The beer base is robust, but the finer aspects of the weasel intestines are perhaps wasted here. A velvety background for a frontal attack of smoke, peat and engine oil. Long smoky tail. Magnificent!

(Bottle at Pikkulintu, Helsinki) Poured black with small brown head. Aroma contained smoke, tar, peat and whisky. Palate was full bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Tasted of smoke, peat, roastedness, coffee, whisky and bitterness. Whisky, smoke and roastedness in aftertaste. I think this is an really excellent combination. Islay whisky characters are clearly present but it still feels that you are drinking beer and not whisky.

courtesy of yespr - pours a dark black colour with a fair dark beige foam; solidly roasted nose with aroma of burned rubber typical of Islay whiskies, some chocolate and vanilla in the background; full-bodied and sticky, oily; very tasty; smokey and very long chocolatey finish, salty, very hoppy with notes of adhesive plaster and mint - powerful, complex and exceptional

A fantastic beer. Pitch black. Incredibly complex and extremely pleasant. Reminiscent of a great peaty single malt. Mindblowingly good.

Bottle at home - thank you yespr! Looks really good, deep black, dark head. Starts very strong with complex malty notes. A bit alcoholic, quite woody-scratchy, notes of strong coffee and liquorice. Finish prickly-scratchy, a bit unbalanced. I liked the regular version more.

Bottle, RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. Black colour, low brown head. Intense peaty, salty and smoky aroma of Islay whisky cask. The flavour has intense notes of peat, salt, smoke and tar, also notes of strong coffee and alcohol.
