Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at Nøgne Ø, Norway.
This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma.
Ingredients : Water, malts, hops, yeast and Vietnamese ca phe chon coffee.

Bottle: Hands down, the best coffee stout I’ve ever had...now I can’t say it competes with "The Shit" but it’s pretty f’ing good. Pours a dark, silky black with no head...nose is just an intense amount of fine coffee with a bit of black cherry and baker’s chocolate apparent as well. The thing I love the most about these impy’s from overseas is the body...they don’t seem to go for the thickest or heaviest brew imaginable. The body is ridiculous drinkable but with a nice silkiness and perfect carbonation. I’ve got to assume it’s the yeast strain they use. Anyways...flavors consisted of strong, elite-level coffee, mild chocolate, some roasted nuts and a bit of anise. Excellent.

Rich brown head carbonation good, large craters forming in the head as it dissolves great look, aroma coffee, from the rich dark pour, rich and smooth, liccorice and caramel come to mind, flavour velvety like at first, bitter tops, caramel oats smoothness, sweetness not as strong as bitter but a good mixture,at 10% alcohol it is very easy drinking.Hints of dark fruits in there with the mild smooth richness, finish bitter/sweet velvet like so smooth going down.

Bottle. Black pour with huge brown head. Coffee, roasted dark malt. This was dominated by the roasted flavor, better than what i expect from cat droppings.

Mother of all hell...this was a treat. Pourfed impossibly thick with absolutely no light showing through. Smelled like cough syrup, burned coffee, ink, oil, jet exhaust, and overripe blackberries. Taste was strong, complex, but this beer was sort of thrust upon me moments after waking up from a jet-lagged slumber so it was a bit difficult to try and take it all in. I just let the sick syrupy smoothness run down my throat as I felt it coat my spine.

Bottled 50cl. Pitch black with a huge nicely remaining deep beige head which leaves a beautiful lacework. The aroma is of roasted malt, nougat, almonds, black chocolate and coffee. Fantastic complex taste. Full bodied. Roasted malt, nougat, almonds, chocolate pralines, coconut, homemade caramel, vanilla, figs and hops showing up. Good bitterness. A tad salty. Strangely reminiscent of Rochefort 10. Long finish which is reminiscent of eucalyptus, vanilla, dark chocolate and almonds. A top notch Imperial Stout. Mikkeller Black Hole is even better in my opinion.

Bottled. Tnx to thewolf! Aroma is very fine. It has roast, coffee, some chocolate, bit earthy. Mind blowing. Black coloured beer with a lasting, nice brown head. The taste is slightly sweet, bitter. It has high quality coffee, roast, some hint of hops, earthiness. Medium bodied (bit thin for the style) with quite some carbonation. Outstanding beer, but it would be absolutely stunning if it had slighly more body and a little less carbonation.

Towering, then collapsing dark beige head, irregular, over jet-black beer. Pretty outspoken coffee aroma (that’s an eufemism, OK?) and some ureum, and an aroma as from animal fur or warm leather. Harsh, nearly tart roasted coffeebean flavour, followed by a peculiar velvety, near-sweetness. Very roasted flavours and unusual esters and other aromatic components. Moccha finish, with a little piece of bitter chocolate presented. Velvety MF, burning sensation at the same time; density as from crude oil. I’m not a coffee nut, so I miss the importance of the sh*tstory. It’s just a slightly different, but very rich Imperial Coffee Stout.
