Very impressed with this tasty brew. I’ve recently given up on coffee imperial stouts, but Brunch Weasel it much more balanced than the likes of Jav-ha amongst others. The oatmeal also added a nice creamy body that made this so great. Aroma was a refreshing chocolate and coffee, but not too bitter or astringent. Flavor was creamy chocolate and coffee, with a nice bitterness. A very good brew indeed. MIBRomeo (1966), Wisconsin, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jul 25, 2009 Jet black pour huge frothy chocolate oatmeal looking head with thick lacing. Very nice aroma, big full chcolaty light bitter cocoa powder and hints of butter lots and lots of coffee more espresso like. Palate is a little lighter than I like but is well coated and creamy. Delicious loads of smooth coffee with out the acidic bitterness that coffee tends to provide, lots of chocolate malts lightly sweet so creamy, almost a hint of vanilla in the finish. So rich.. very very good. moejuck (1172), Ohio, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 24, 2009 Black pour with a tan head. The aroma is bitter chocolate and hints of coffee, but very light hints. The mouthfeel on this isn’t my bag at all--pretty lively carbonation and medium thickness at best for an imperial stout. The taste is strongly astringent, especially in the finish. A bit of sweet chocolate right at first, but the middle is bitter coffee with a heavy dose of alcohol and then the astringent finish. Average at best. mkunz (18), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 23, 2009 Aroma is of coffe and liqourish. Taste is powerful - spicy, salty, coffee, and is dominated by liqourish and swedish vörtböd. Finish is roasted and dry. A really good IS. Not very complex, but powerful and very enjoyable without becoming overwhelming. One of the best beers in this style I’ve had. JaBier (1294), Capital City, Ohio, USA

Malty coffee aroma with some licorice and chocolate. Big coffee flavor up front with some chocolate and licorice before the bitter coffee finish. Very good. stchloe (491), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jul 22, 2009 So lets take this beer apart. Brunch Weasel. A great name, I see now that it is a type of coffee but all I could think of was some vermin drinking beer and taking the last piece of quiche. And I wanted to be that weasel. Its dark too, wonderfully brown, like a beer jewel. Then the flavor is incredibly bitter coffee, kind of just like a really strong brew with a little chocolate/malt ganache. Also you get tipsy. This would be a good brunch drink. I see why its rated so highly. HighWine (167), , California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 21, 2009 Bottle. Aged at 54 degrees for about 5 months since purchased. Jet black pour with a frothy milk chocolate head. The head fades after a few moments leaving trace lacing on the glass. Great nose. Anise and sugary/creamy coffee. Huge flavor. Big coffee roast without bitterness until after the sip is long gone. Some warming alcohol at first but not overpowering considering the high ABV. Palate isn’t as thick as I anticipated. This beer is quite drinkable and has a thin, oily mouthfeel.
