Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at Nøgne Ø, Norway.
This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma.
Ingredients : Water, malts, hops, yeast and Vietnamese ca phe chon coffee.

I loved this beer...much, much better than the breakfast...slightly viscous with lots of the expected roasty coffee and chocolate notes...no poop flavors, so that’s good..............................................

Bottle - super black body with a very creamy brown head; This beer has really changed since I had it the first time, the coffee was way way to apparent and overshadowing everything else, now it has mellowed out and the hops gets a chance, the vulgar dense creamy chocolate like aromas from the shit coffee it still way to apparent in my opinion, but I think that coffee shouldnt be served to anybody you like anyway; Because the coffee is so milky soft and without any acid it brings an unpleasant death fell to the body of the beer; Some things happen in the finish, it become greatly bitter and has a rough dryness, in the later finish the death feel returns.......weasel coffee, it is such a shame those beans doenst stay in the body of the weasel!

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color ale with a dark brown color head with great retention and some very good lacing. Aroma of dry coffee is quite particular and very interesting. Taste is a nice mix between some unique dry coffee that is very well balanced by some black chocolate malt with lingering bitterness form the roasted cereal. Body is full with a creamy palate and some great carbonation with no apparent alcohol which is nice considering this is sometime an issue with this brewer. Very much well done but still don’t totally get the hype surrounding this beer.

500ml bottle (i think?) aged 5 months. This was some good danish shit! Poured wit a huge creamy dark lasting head. Deep black body. Nose of coffee and dark fruits. Aroma of lots of coffee and toasted and roasted malt, milk chocolate. Heavy alcohol. Full body with a creamy and sticky texture. Bitter finish. The flavor is heavy sweet and moderate bitterHuge creamy dark lasting head. Deep black body. Nose of coffee and fruits. Aroma of lots of coffee and toasted and roasted malt. Heavy alcohol. Full body with a creamy, silky and sticky texture. Bitter finish. Flavor is more roasty than I expected, prominent from the grain and coffee, bakers chocolate, molasses, mild alcohol, very nice flavor. A very good and powerfull imperial stout - but also expensive.

(Bottle, Bishop’s Arms, Vasagatan, Stockholm, 18 June 2009) Pitch black colour with brief, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with strong black coffee, cocoa, ashes and creamy chocolate. Roasted, malty taste with notes of black coffee, cocoa, ashes and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, fairly dry, with a slight alcohol bite towards the end. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Brilliant balance. Lovely beer!

Bottle. Black pour with lots of brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, light roast and alcohol. Flavor is the same, high carbonation gives it a soda-like mouthfeel. Not sure about the really high rating for this; it does have an interesting coffee / alcohol aftertaste.

50cl bottle at Olympen. Batch 418. Best before 2011-03-23. Brewed 2009-03-23. It poured a pitch black colour with a medium big, brown head. Aroma is coffee and dark roasted malts. Hints of alcohol. Flavour is bitter and massive. Notes of coffee, dark roasted malts and alcohol. It has a long, lingering aftertaste.

Bottle (2008) in a snifter; truly exceptional; pitch black w/ an espresso-like coffee head, leaving some chocolatey lacing; aroma is heavy w/ coffee of the richest kind along w/ vanilla, cocoa; flavor hits you right up front w/ that exquisite coffee profile, followed up by chocolate and a velvety alcohol presence; fairly acidic all through, lending some citrus that acts as an astringent counterpoint to the chocolate; beautiful beer, but I suggest getting Founders’ Breakfast Stout for much less at barely any compromise in quality and complexity.
