Commercial Description:
Brewed by Mikkeller at Nøgne Ø, Norway.
This imperial Oatmeal stout is brewed with one of the world’s most expensive coffees, made from droppings of weasel-like civetcats. The fussy Southeast Asian animals only eat the best and ripest coffee berries.Enzymes in their digestive system help to break down the bean. Workers collect the bean-containing droppings for Civet or Weasel Coffee. The exceedingly rare Civet Coffee has a strong taste and an even stronger aroma.
Ingredients : Water, malts, hops, yeast and Vietnamese ca phe chon coffee.

My rating nr 200 has to be something special. Therefore goes this one out, as R.E.M sang, to the one I love. Full of respect and full of admiration this one gets my first fiver...Its so complex and balanced as hell. Its smooth with a fat creamy palate and a pour that are all black with nice brown fluffy head.... To use the worlds most expensive coffee is such a cheeky and compromiseless thing to do.. To hell with the financial crise. Thanx for a perfect beer.

Bottle, 10.9%. Mild grassy hop aroma. Sweet liquorice. Black colour, seems clear. Small stable brown head. The first thing I notice is the distinct grassy hop aroma. It is good, and it has a hard bite. Then there is a powerful malt base, sweet and sticky, roasted and with barley bitterness. Sweet, but well balanced by both alcohol, bitterness and hoppiness.

Medium sized brown head, excellent retention with a fair lace. An almost black colored brew. Roasty, coffee coated nose with notes of berries and ash. Med/full body, oily and a bit much on the carbonation, a hint chalky. Big ass roast and coffee flavors, bitter sweet chocolate notes of malt balls and caramel too boot. Looooooong roasty finish. Nice but not as much finesse in this one compared to the breakfast. Might age well? Bottle procured @statelineliquors. Props due for Robert who keeps the good brews coming in for us friggin hicks in ceciltucky county. Thanks bro!

Bottled. Big thanks goes to Weine, who generously gave me a bottle. Thick black colour with big cappuccino head. Thick, concentrated aroma from earthy coffe without the disturbing green pepper. There is also chocolate and violets present. Not much of toast here, and very balanced. Far from being aggressive. Body is thick malty, without being sticky, as always with Mikkeller. The bottle conditioning might give some extra smoothness to body, whereas the carbonation level is pretty low. Flavour is very balanced, there is a silky, chocolatey mouthcoating backbone with segments of that poo coffee, that is well integrated with the chocolate malts. A clear violet touch is also present. No alcohol presence whatsoever. Here’s to a well brewed Imperial Stout, that’s not brutal or daring in the flavour profile. It is very balanced with a long flavour. Bitterness seems to be on the low side.

bottle. Pours a thick, heavy opaque black; minimal, tight dark tan head. Aroma dominated by fresh black coffee and heavy roasted grains. Coffee aroma is very strong and pronounced, without much in the way of cocoa or creamy notes that often appear. Flavor opens up some more dimensions, though still very much coffee-forward. Coffee flavor follows the nose- dark, sharp, and aggressive. Some hop bite blends in well with the coffee sharpness. Some notes of dark sweet molasses, thick oatmeal, and dark bakers chocolate round out the flavor. Palate is full and heavy, carries the alcohol well in a solid, big stout. Overall a very well done, interesting and unique big coffee stout. And let’s face it, the idea of drinking a beer brewed partly with weasel turds has gotta be noted as quite the unique experience!

Black colored brew. Very thick pour. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts. Flavor is coffee, roasted malts, chcolate, mocca, sugary, oatmeal, caramel and soem fruits. A taste rich experience. Very thick texture, oatmeal like, remembers me of a cold moccacino.

Pitch black. Hops produce a substantial bitterness. Not enough coffee essence, and it doesn’t beat Peche Mortale by a longshot. Plenty of richness and some interesting notes, but not my favorite coffee stout. Bottle.
