| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 28, 2009 I figured drinking this for my 200th is a solid choice. Pours black into snifter with a large beige head. Aroma is weasel poo consisting of a carnivorous mixture of mice, rabbits, gophers, chipmunks and the ocassional coffee bean (had to do it). No this brew has a STRONG coffee, smokey, and chocolate aroma. Might be one of the strongest coffee aromas out there in a beer, (maybe peche mortal compares?) Flavor is great, at first I thought it might be too strong for the flavor profile but there is a nice hop and malt backbone to make it quite enjoyable. Not as much coffee in the flavor as you would think by the aroma. The hops surprised me the most such a solid addition to the typical smoky malt and chocolate malt profile. Finish is slightly dry and slightly bitter. A thoughly enjoyable beer.
Oh yeah in case you wondered if more is coming I found this at the Mikkeller website:
"It is not unproblematic to get your hands on sufficient amounts of the rare and very expensive ’weasel pooh coffee’. But now it seems that a delivery is underway. A Vietnamese coffee plantation owner has promised to deliver the coffee immediately. He reports that on his plantation no weasels go to bed hungry . Every morning he gets out of bed when the dawn is still cracking only to collect the precious pooh. Very soon all the pooh will be send to Nøgen Ø (Naked Island) in Norway where Mikkel will brew the next batch of Beer Geek Brunch in the middle of April"
Fresh batch in April! trevor211 (518), Seattle, Washington, USA

Pours black, with a thick, dark tan head. Fresh, dark roasted coffee and cacao on the nose, a bit of molasses and dark brown sugar. This stuff is smooth as butter, enough carbonation to keep the palate lively. Deep, roasty coffee flavor - I can really tell this would be very, very good coffee - but it doesn’t overwhelm the rest of what’s in here... dark chocolate, very dark brown sugar, and oak. It has a wonderful balance - I’m not used to liking a coffee stout this well, but it seems so well integrated. I could see this pairing beautifully with a creme brulee. sbroome (80), Burnsville, Minnesota, USA

believe the hype.
pours deep black with a heavy tan head that take a while before diminishing off.
nose is chocolate. sweet molasses, roasted hops and surprisingly only a hint of coffee notes. a tinge of alcohol is also noticeable.
mouthfeel is silky sweet and pretty heavy. now for the flavor... smokey chocolate and a woody bitterness that leads into the hit of coffee. high alcohol is only slightly noticeable. Lots of great flavors and a rather complex beer. in my top 3 favorites, now i’m hoping they make it in a 6 pack for only $6.99. aplusbreaks (330), , Colorado, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 27, 2009 500ml bottle. Pours black with a nice mocha colored head, great retention and lacing. Aromas of bittersweet chocolate, oats, roasted malts, some dark fruit, a hint of smoke and of course coffee, lots of coffee. Flavors are are sweet roasted malts and chocolate up front. Coffee and bittersweet chocolate linger on the palate for a while. Palate is rich, and full bodied. Great beer, I would drink more, not sure if I would pay $16 again though. soccer290 (137), Highland Park, Illinois, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 26, 2009 500 mL bottle. Very excited to try this beer, as I loved Mikkeller’s Beer Geek Breakfast, and had heard this was even better. Pours a magnificent opaque black color with a small dark tan head that disappates quickly. Smells of fresh oatmeal, some roasted bittersweet chocolate, and a smooth rich coffee smell. Immediately strong taste of great rich coffee, with the oatmeal and chocolate coming later, and mixing very smoothly with the coffee flavor. Goes down fairly smoothly, is full-bodied, and leaves a mocha-like aftertaste (the chocolate and coffee flavor mixed). Overall a great beer, that I was not disappointed by, and would love to try again; definitely worth the money. Pailhead (2602), Allen Park, Michigan, USA
